It's ridiculous, isn't it. So long as the raw footage isn't monetised I don't see the problem. YouTube is still such a grey area still in terms of copyright and stuff. They could've at least given the channels a chance to remove the videos.

Maybe BioWare should upload all the raw footage themselves on their channel if they don't want fans doing it.

This is really not a BioWare issue.

I'm sure BioWare have better things to do (making and fixing games) that running a footage channel...

And the channel is back up.

A little calm would be helpful.

If you have permission from Bioware to upload unedited footage then no, they have no right to remove your content on behalf of someone who didn't want it taken down.

Some industries can recognise free advertising when they see it.

Following LolaLei's advice to get permission seems like the best course of action for the moment. Perhaps Bioware could also make a statement to YouTube along the lines of "No, bad, stop it." ;)

Llama: I dunno if it helps, but EA and BioWare have given there full support for YouTubers to record Dragon Age Inquisition/BioWare games in general, so if YouTube give you any trouble for using footage with commentary I can put you in contact with who you'd need to speak to from BioWare to get written permission to send to YT, that's what I've had to do a few times when I've had problems.

That aside, are you networked/partnered? If so it'll be worth contacting them? Also do you monetise your vids?

I can't even access my channel and received no explanation as to why I'm banned but written permission may only help so please put me in contact with this person. I'm partnered by Machinima and I contacted them as well but they're still waiting for an answer from youtube just like me.

That's dumb, I like Fluffy's videos BECAUSE it has no commentary. The moment I hear somebody's voice in a video I usually navigate away.

Me too! That's why I don't do commentary, I only want to show different scenarios/endings/what ifs/secrets/romances, something people may be interested to see as if it was in game but without doing multiple playthroughs if they don't feel like it. Or even just to re-watch some funny things or romances after a while, I like to do it myself. Commentary would completely destroy the purpose of doing what I do.

Youtube being a jerk again, now this is just sad. I don't have much else to say other than what has already been proposed, just keep in mind you have our full support in the matter :) Best of luck with retrieving your channel!

No need to be hostile.

Firstly, I never said it was a BioWare issue, it was simply an idea since they have a channel where they've uploaded a fair amount of gameplay footage already. Secondly, no one is kicking off thus it is calm.

Aye - considering that this new generation of consoles actually facilitates the uploading and sharing of raw game footage - it seems super-odd to me that doing so would cause such problems.

Were the videos monetised Fluffyninjallama?

Depends how much noise can be made. I knew of a channel that was about 100k strong getting deleted by YT once, but she had a big enough following to make enough noise for the YT elite to get involved. Sadly, unless you're partnered with Polaris or the other YT genres equivalents you don't stand a cat in hells chance.

Please forgive a brief topic derailment...a cat in hells chance? That's a fascinating phrase. Is it a quote? Or regionalism? Thank you in advance.

Lol, sorry it's a British-ism. It means "to stand a slim chance of succeeding".

There is beauty in that serenity.

Your name isn't FluffyLoudmouthLlama, after all.

Please let me know if there is anything a random adult U.S. citizen with a wallet can do to help you get back online.

Cool! Any particular part of Britain? Is there a reason cats, in particular, don't fare well in hell?

Do you have the "nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs" simile where you live?

I'm not sure, it's just something my parents have always said so it could just be an old saying that isn't regularly used anymore...

I don't think it matters to Youtube, if they see something they don't like, they remove it rather than actually check if it's either legal or the copyright owners don't mind it being shown. Like all those movie reviewers who's reviews are protected under by most international satire and parody laws, but still got their videos taken down regardless.

Frankly, their overuse of the banhammer is the reason why if I ever start a youtube channel, I will do so... over on Blip.

:P

A lot of it is automated so they often don't check to see if the claims/strikes/flags are legit. It's a flawed system but I dread to think how many people would need to be hired to manually check every single claim, lol.

Reminds me of the only video I ever uploaded to YT, for a intro to film class nonetheless, and it had no sound with a copyright infringement flag underneath it when I went to present it the next day...That is the first, last, and only time I actually used YT.

I know many channels I've subscribed to have had isues over the years.

Good luck, Fluffy! Fight the good fight!   B) I really enjoyed your no-commentary gameplay vids. hope to see them back up soon.

I honestly watched Fluffy's videos for three reasons:

1. Re-watching scenes with friends cuz I can't really share my screen with some of my online buddies.

2. I have heard from a lot of people that the new Dragon Age: Inquisition game has too many bugs for the computer right now and thy all tell me not to get it right now, so I am left with little other option than to watch other people play the game. It is not the consumer's fault that the product being sold is defective. EA shouldn't use the "you are stealing customers from us" excuse, because they would have much more customers if their game ran smoothly in the PC. I do not own any other console and the games I have always wanted to play are on the PC. Fluffy by no means was profiting from her videos, and took the time to share a great game with those of us that got screwed over thanks to EA.

3. Making music videos that have yet to be banned by YT.

Quite honestly, I find it stupid that YT deleted the channel. My guess is, YT believes a lot of people want to rise to fame like Markiplier, jackscepticeye, PewDiePie and it is desperately and unfairly trying to find ways to prevent any more people from becoming too overly popular like they did because they can't pay anymore. They only failed to realize that poor and sweet FluffyNinjaLlama was not monetizing from it.  Which leads to a last assumption, that someone already being paid by YT wanted to make the videos that Fluffy was making. Who? I have no idea.

I really hope DoucheTube sort their **** out. This ridiculous copyright strikes are getting out of hand.

I love your videos FluffyNinjaLlama and I really hope you'll get things up and running again as soon as possible!

I'm not too sure about that one, but what I do know from experience is that they don't give small/medium channels the support that they give the bigger channels (the big ones earn them the most money, I guess). Same goes for the networks... unless you're YouTube elite it's an uphill battle getting anyone to help you when your channel runs into trouble like Lllama's.

Even if it were a BioWare issue, which I highly doubt it is, it would be completely different departments who would handle something like this than the people who make and fix the games.
