I agreed to everything till I reached the "Josephine is oddly colored". Where you been living? Some cave in the arctic? Quite possibly, since you think that a rather mundane Mediterranean skin colour is odd and unattractive. I'd be offended, but thankfully I'm more white than olive skinned, but still, your comment borders on offensive.

It's not the dark skin that I'm talking about, sorry if it came across that way.    She has some weird yellowish-green highlights/undertones (graphics level is set to Ultra) every time I see her, and it makes her look really weird.

Well, the fashion in DA:I is atrocious. The dresses, the masks, the colors... ugh. And don't get me started on some of the gear my companions are wearing.

Yes, those yellowish green undertones is what we call "olive skin". Still not saving it, but it's OK, I'm not here to pick a fight.

DA2 Cass had a more rounded face, DAI Cass has a lantern jaw and a scar, on top of more angular facial features in general. Pretty big change, really.

I chalk a lot of that up to different engine/etc.  Varric also looks way different, everyone's noted Hawke looks way different.  Cullen looks different.  Loghain looks NOTHING like himself.  Alistair looks like a wax museum portrait of himself.  Basically, no one really transmitted over to DA:I very accurately IMO.

I promise you, women like seeing sexy naked men just as much as men like seeing sexy naked women.

Just look at the book covers for any romance novel aimed at women. They must be really missing their target audience if women hate naked men.

I'm not going to get into the reasons women might be less vocal about their desires because I could write an entire essay on it.

But that's not true, it would be great if where, it's a simple fact that men show more interest in these things.

Josephine's dress is not "flamboyant", it's "clashing".

Sorry, I didn't mean to be offensive.  I've seen olive skin before and it didn't look anything like what I'm seeing on Josephine.  I guess I haven't seen enough varieties?  Chalk it up to ignorance I guess.  Sorry again :(

Don't worry about it. All in good fun. If I were you I'd bash the nose though. That nose....

Hahah she does have a bit of a honker.  I don't mind it too much though.  Compared to the noses you can choose for your female PC, hers is quite petite!

You shouldn't even need to apologize even if that was you're original intent, nothing wrong with having a preference in any form of look, skin colour or tone. The fact that people assumed you intended something racist by it is what I take trouble with

Go look at romance novels for women.

Go look at fanart for women.

Go look at smut for women.

And then come back with a comment that defends your point instead of just posting "NOOO NOT TRUE" to multiple women women telling you they ARE interested.

There's nothing wrong with finding certain features unattractive. Even skin tone, as charged of a topic as that is. I haven't noticed any odd coloring with Josephine's skin, but if it does appear "weird" to that poster then, well, that sucks for them. But it's not wrong and shouldn't be any more offensive than not being attracted to someone for other, more typically acceptable aesthetic reasons.

Since everyone is quoting this... ;D

I can promise you that women have a sex drive similiar to men. Sometimes even more so. The old argument that men react more to visual stimuli (seeing barely clad women) has been proven wrong, women react just the same... but less obvious.

If you need examples... well, the internet is filled with them. Perhaps you could have a look at the kilt blowing event at DragonCon... or the geek auctions. ;)

True. And as is their right to not like a "certain skin color", just the same is someone else's right to not like people who claim they don't like a "certain skin color". Do you *really* wanna go down that path? There's gonna by Nazis, Jews, Blacks and Hitler down that line soon enough, so I ask again. Do you *really* want to continue this line of reasoning?

Just to clarify, I don't. And that's why I never mentioned "racist" or accuse anything of the sort. I said I am *personally* feeling rather offended. I chose my wording carefully. Maybe you should do the same?

I don't know what women prefer, but I do know what corporations with billions of dollars worth of market research believe women prefer. If it was so obvious that women, on average, preferred to be marketed with scantily clad men, why would corporations throw away billions of dollars by doing the opposite of that?

Well, I'm asian, and my skin color isn't that far away from Josephine's, if that helps at all?  Though I'm more beige than olive, I guess.

Men have a stronger sex drive, scientifically proven fact and something that's pretty much obvious based on myself and the men and women that I know.

What are you basing yours on?

Yeah, olive is reserved for us super-sexy latin types (since this is the stereotypes thread obviously), you should start wearing a kimono :P Asian skin colours are definitely alot more beige though, in all seriousness.
