Or should I say keys/Halla.

Seriously, I have run up and down this damn palace a hundred times and the only places I can access are the Vestibule, the Ballroom, and the Garden. Because I cannot find more than one Halla and none of the damn keys. All the doors are either locked from the other side or need keys and I CAN'T FIND ANY OF THEM!!!!!

Looking at my Quest Map I have gone into every room that I can, but there are other rooms which I can't access even when I'm hitting myself at the door.

Somebody please help me, this palace is turning into an asylum.

I'm going to try to do this in a non-spoilery way...have you tried climbing upwards yet?

With all those Orlesians around some might argue the place is already an asylum. :D

As others above said: look for a way to climb up to another level...

Make sure you ping the hell out of everything (seriously - not exaggerating I clicked the damn search button so much my thumb should have fallen off).

Use your statues wisely!!! There aren't enough to access all halla locked doors!

Last piece of advice- the environment changes rather frequently at the winter palace. Anytime you access an area that's supposed to be locked to the public, there will be new points of interest in the vestibule, ball room, etc.

My recommendations: save often in multiple files so if you miss something you can reload and go back.

Think 1950's romance and what the boy might climb to get in her room, or the girl might climb down to sneak out. (it might even have roses on it.)

Yes, I HAVE climbed up the trellis in the garden, and No, I can't seem to open any of the doors there. I don't know what the ****** problem is.

Up, straight ahead, blue door opens, up all the way right (with back to trellis) is Halla Statue for other door.

Alas, my amphibian advice was inadequate.

Lol. Seriously, the blue doors straight ahead in front of the trellis won't open for you?

Did you talk to the duke in one of the gallery rooms?

Also, there should be some "whispering elves" in the room with the stairs that lead down to the servants quarters. If you try to speak to them they say something like "we're not serving drinks- go find someone else to bother."

You have to eaves drop on them from the staircase nearby. Should light up with a big red ring. The only reason I can think for the doors not opening is that you didn't listen to the elves first (they give you a new objective) but I'm not 100% sure on that.

If you need a thorough guide, this is Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts. All the information is compiled by a forum user.

There are only 11 halla statues so there is limited use to them.

This act is divided into three parts.

Part one. You can get 10/30 gossips from picking up documents or eavesdropping. Keep in mind that sometimes the inquisitor will remark that the discussion overheard is not important, just leave that area for a while and come back to it. Keep doing this until some information is picked up, the red circle will disappear. You'll also have about two hallas altogether. Enough to open the halla door at the upper level above the garden. If you have opened the Grand Library, the bell will start to ring the moment you opened the inner doors. I usually wait until the second bell to return to the ballroom. Make sure you reach the ballroom before the third bell rings if you don't want to lose court approval.

Morrigan enters.

Part two. Enter the servants' quarters. In this segment, you can pick up another 10 gossips (I think) and four hallas.

Part three. After the dance. Pick up 7 gossip info, enter the Royal Quarters, pick up the rest and hand them in to Leliana. 30/30. The rest of the hallas are scattered in the RQ.

Also, forgive me if I'm remembering something wrong, but I actually think you don't need ANY Halla statues to complete WEWH. You need them if you want the "special" endings, but just Celene alone or Gaspard alone, I don't think you do.

No, it didn't!

I thought I talked/listened to all of the "whispering elves", but I'll try again.

Only two groups of elves, one you have to eavesdrop on, the other you talk to directly.

Huh, I'm pretty sure I had to eavesdrop on both, except when I played elf.

That maybe, I always play as an elf so, you may have to eavesdrop the second ones as well if you aren't an elf.

Okay, now I'm pissed.

The door opened, I found all the loot and all the "evidence"/books/secrets in the library, and Morrigan isn't showing up anywhere. No cutscene, nothing I know she's supposed to show up in the ballroom, but when I went to the ballroom afterwards she didn't show up. I went back to the library (risking losing court favor and everything) I didn't find a damn thing more that I thought I might have needed.

Again, this is nuts!

I think part of the problem may be you expecting certain things to happen instead of following the hints you find in the game and letting them lead you. There are a number of different ways to arrive at the end of that quest and there are a lot of if-then triggers.

Do you have a save from before you entered the palace?

Did you find the note addressed to "M" in the library?

Did you find the hidden item on the floor (not in the library)?

What does the quest log say you should do?

Did the bells ring? If the inquisitor said nothing of bells ringing, then it's not time yet for Morrigan's entrance. You've time to pick up other stuff you might have missed.

Okay, this is where I'm wondering if my game is glitched.

I figured out what I did wrong with Morrigan (forgot to pick up the "Negotiations" item), but now there are three things that are bugging me.

1. Even though I have picked up all 10 Halla statues, apparently I can't seem to open both Celene's bedroom door and the door to the lower garden? Is it because I opened the door to Celene's room where Briala's locket was?

2. The reason I'm worried is that I wasn't able to finish the Blackmail quest before running into Florianne and the final battle in the Winter Palace. I REALLY want to finish the damn thing but at the end I only had 26 out of 30 scandals.

3. I want the ending where Celene and Briala make up, but I can't seem to trigger it. Although I swear to God I had all the proper steps done. Locket found, both Celene and Briala exposed to it, Gaspard exposed as a traitor and executed (with Briala noted as an ally in exposing Florianne), but no option given to have them reconcile. WTF!?

1] If you opened the door in the lower guest garden, where the coin fountain is, you may not have enough halla statues for the rest as that door requires three halla statues. If you want the Celine and Briala ending, you must have the elven locket. So you only have enough to open

the Locked Door on the Upper Balcony of the Guest Gardens (Upper Gardens) (1 Statue)

the door to the vault where you pick up the elven locket (3 statues)

Celene's Private Bedroom in the Royal Quarters (5 Statues)

2) If you want to get 30/30, you really must make sure you get information when you eavesdrop. If the inquisitor said it's nothing or boring, that means you didn't get the scandalous gossip. You have to step away from the area for a while and listen in again until you get it.

Too, you have to revisit areas you have been to before in the 2nd (after talking to Morrigan) and 3rd (after the dance) parts. The Grand Library especially, to check for papers that will appear there. Also check the lower corridors of the vestibule, all around the ballroom. Don't bother with the servants' quarters and the gardens attached to that section, nothing will appear there. If you get all 30/30 (you must hand them in to Leliana before you meet Florianne's men), you have more leverage.

3] You have to talk to Celine's handmaidens, the three ladies and show them the elven locket. Celine will talk to the Inq. Pick all the first choice replies that implies that she's still in love with Briala. Next, talk to Briala, show her the elven locket. Again, pick all the first choice replies, implying Celine still loves her. You must have evidence on Gaspard. You get this by telling the tied up Chevaliar on Celine's bed to testify against Gaspard.

You'll be able to implicate Gaspard and reconcile Celine and Briala in the confrontation.

1. The only thing that worried me about the lower garden was getting enough info to complete the Blackmail quest. I suppose that is not the case, then?

2. I looked everywhere for more eavesdropping and didn't find any more, but I didn't look in the Grand Library. Thanks. Although I swear I looked all over the Ballroom and didn't find anything; no convos, no papers, nothing.

3. I didn't pick all the first choices, I guess that's why the option didn't show up. I also didn't have the tied up Chevalier testify on Gaspard, I figured I had plenty enough evidence on him not to bother, but I apparently didn't. Thank you!
