Fade touched nevarite - pull of the abyss proccing

Has anyone tried out this fade touched proc? I wanted to give it to solas so he can proc pull of the abyss on every hit but after an hour of trying i have only managed to get the crappy 75% damage on kill fade touched nevarite.

I have the sulevin blade which has it built but its nothing like solas' spell and seems to last barely 2 seconds before dissipating. 

 

Speaking of which, what are good choices for masterwork slots for mages? The obvious one is +5 guard on hit silverite but i find it a little dull, another is 5 hidden blades on hit but I wanted something a bit more lore friendly and synergistic.

If you want excitement, go for berserk, I had a blast with it. I had berserk on my weapon and guard on hit on my armor. Was careful with barrier and fade step. And it really added a lot of fun to playing a mage.

 

If you just want more damage, then go for a chance for masterwork, flat 10% damage increase plus 10% attributes is most likely better than 10% chance to cast immolate at 50% weapon dmg.

 

I prefer staying away from damage dealing materials, because their base damage seems to be really bad (i.e. masterworks immolate at 50% damage vs a real immolate for 300% damage, note I haven't done any math this is just my impression), and AI is smart enough for timing detonators so you don't really benefit from an RNG detonator.

I can't find it. I really wanted it for blackwall so that everyone would be forced to stand around him, but all I get is the nevvarite variant that says targets explode for 75% weapon damage on kill.

 

On my knight enchanter I've had fun with the other fade touched silverite, which procs chain lightning and gives me a great way of creating deep sleep. His other enchantment is the war horn one from snofleur, which gives that fatty 15% damage in an AoE around me for 12 seconds.

I've never seen it and I've searched it a lot myself. I fear that the effect is bugged as it happens with Golden Halla or Fade Touched Halla Leather that should provide sneak when not attacking in combat but it instead gives 10% chance to trigger fade cloak on hit on the former case and +15 stamina in the latter.

Sadly it seems some of the most powerful effects in masteworks are bugged atm.

Well in that case I can stop wasting time trying to farm the damn thing. I suppose it would be way too powerful having solas or blackwall generate abyssal pulls on hit.

 

Chain lightning sounds really fun and like you said, generates deep sleep after theyve been weakened - as long as it doesnt overide an exiting weaken and crap out. sigh, so many bugs.

Chain lightning atleast on silverite is bugged. Does no damage at all. Ive tested it for silverite in every combination multiple mobs and it does not work. IT will proc yes but will do 0 damage too.

Thats a little depressing, is there a list of buggy and non functional masterworks somewhere?

You could try to cheese it by saving before you harvest nodes, then reloading again if you don't get the fade-touched variety.

 

That's how I ended up getting the 20% dmg from varghest scales to be perfectly honest. After 5 hours of grinding them proved fruitless I managed to get it in like 20 minutes that way.

 

For that masterwork, the supposed 30% damage variety doesn't exist however. I wouldn't be surprised if there are other masterworks that have been removed.

I can confirm it's also bugged on FT Obsidian. I used it on my rogue for quite a while, I can see the animation but no damage done.
