So, is there a way, maybe by using the cheat engine or something, to turn the 'scan for items' option to toggle. Like if we press it once, it will continually do the scan waves and detect items for as long as we need to. I think it would be very useful and remove the annoyance of having to press the button by standing in awkward places so we don't miss any items.

 

It's also useful for people using the controller since they have to press the L3 button and can't map the function to an easier button.

That's too bad, but thanks for answering though. Looks like I'll have to either wait for modders to start messing with the engine or just see for myself.
