I feel ya here.
Luckily(?) I always romance either Fenris or Isabela.
I just wanna know why Hawke, if single, wasn't invited for the sexiest threesome of all time.

Probably.
Oh wells.
We shall defend our husbandos to the death. En Garde! (Of course this duel would occur on my DWR. Simply because lol damage

The whole point of BSN. The whole point.
It brings the lowest of low out of you. I am more polite on 4chan on average than I am on BSN. I blame demons and blood magic. The veil must be thin here.

I'm all about Dorian/Quizzy.
Iron bull can either report his failed mission in Par Vollen or bang tavern wenches and chantry sisters. ![]()

It made it hard to romance Anders on my crazy rebel playthrough. >_> Wasn't expecting it either, so maybe that's why haha. Wasn't prepared!
And holy *****, you're right! D:

I can only really romance Anders in a rivalrymance with my sad shell of a human aggressive Hawke. Otherwise I can't see my Hawkes not running to comfort Fenris. And heck I'm sure even that Hawke slept with Fenris >_>
That was an amusing trainwreck of a relationship though. Two users using each other until it erupted.
why do I always miss the start of the good ones
This thread is actually kinda fun now that we're not all aggressively defending our chosen companion. xD
But as for the companion relationships thing, I admit to a twinge of jealousy when my favorite LI is involved, but hey, everyone deserves happiness. And I like to see my guys happy.

Your drama radar is not finely tuned, Steelcan. For shame.
alas Civilization MP throws it out of whack

I don't mind them being happy. They just often get with character I don't like.
Like Alistair even when I was a mega Alistair fangirl him and Leliana getting together in DC didn't bother. I thought it was cute.
Except, surprise, I'm not making **** up. Gaider's post here, and for those that don't want to click, here's the quote:
He is asked in a very ego-stroking fashion:
Gaider answers:
So we're not meant to interpret the relationship as positive or healthy. That's so nice to hear about the first intercompanion gay relationship. He might be comparing it to beer, but that's definitely skimming over the fact that there's an edge of embarrassment and shame that Dorian never indicates to the Inquisitor he enjoys. Beer is something you tease people for. Love and intimate relationships? I certainly hope no one teases people about that when they sound unsure.
There is a stark difference between how Bull behaves in a romance with the Inquisitor (which is full of its own arguable issues, but that I can chalk up to misinformation), and how Dorian is in a romance with the Inquisitor, and how they are in a relationship with each other. So, so, so starkly different. If you don't see that, I don't know what to tell you. There's no indication Dorian is into BDSM, so we don't know if he's comfortable or likes feeling that way, but given that he's grown up in an environment where the shame and embarrassment of being gay even without the emotional side of it was quite real and quite outside of his control, I somehow doubt that would be the case.
I'm not sure what the writers hoped to gain by putting this in the way they did, or what Gaider hopes to achieve by pointing out that it may not be a healthy relationship and "that's not necessarily bad." In what way would it be a good thing? In what way is subverting every good thing Bull introduces by making him extremely disrespectful of Dorian a good thing?
So, I'm quite surprised, quite disturbed. From the bioware forums, I expected dismissive responses. From the devs? I was hoping something more productive. Silly me.
And in what you just quoted, Gaider says the relationship is up for interpretation. Also note that the Qunari are currently at war with Tevinter; I think it's obvious that personalities and cultures are going to clash somewhat, especially given how disparate they are. I see it as a "passionate" relationship in which both parties have very strong feelings about how said-relationships should take place, not an abusive one. I think it only leans toward the latter with some because Bull is already an imposing figure in both personality and appearance. Had this been another companion, like Solas or Blackwall, in his place, I think their situation wouldn't have gained the kind of attention it has. It's not meant to be interpreted as a perfect relationship, and he clearly makes that known. There are plenty of moments between the two - outside of the banter in question - in which their conversations aren't as campy. There's nothing "bad" about portraying relationships in which two people from societies currently warring themselves not exactly hitting the Disney mold of happiness. Differences are going to clash, and no relationship is without its own occasional arguments and disputes.

I totally understand... and don't even mention Joker/EDI eeeergh. DX But Alistair/Leli is a cute thought even though it only happened in an alternate universe type of thing.

at least you can push the brakes on that one
Ugh, Joker/EDI.
HOWEVER, Isa/Fenris. HOW DARE YOU GUYS. Imma start a ship war up in here. [activates Tech Armor, dares all of you to come near me]

Then the game tries to make you feel bad. Screw you game. That ship is creepy.
It might not have been that horrible but they had Joker be so damn creepy. Ruined Joker for me I swear.

Yeah I wish it could've happened if you just didn't romance them. (Then again if I'm not romancing alistair I'm romancing Leli so I'd never saw it anyway).
Ugh, Joker/EDI.

I'm not a fan of companion romances in general. It gets too complicated. If they have to romance outside of the main character, wouldn't it be better if it was with a NPC so it doesn't have to make for awkward party banter that forces you to mute the tv or plug your ears?
But back on topic, I watched the Dorian and Iron Bull romance on youtube- It made me sick to my stomach. I really don't understand how Iron Bull could treat anyone so poorly. He's so nice to everyone else. If there was a patch option to perma disable that content I'd use it in a heart beat. I'd love to be able to have Dorian and Iron Bull both on my team in the game where I wanted to romance Cullen. However, as it stands I can't use them in a team together unless I'm romancing one of them.
That relationship will never happen in one of my games.
I love Isa/Fenris and will defend it to the death!!! Okay, not death but I think its a great pairing and I get bothered by some of the comments, so even though I myself am bothered by IB/Dorian, I can understand the other reading and the frustration of oeoole who have it. They are my favorite LI in da2 too though, so I didn't trigger it often. Love fanart and fic of it tho, and if you could poly it up there, Hawke so would.
I also love Merrill/Carver, vertigo, although I seem to remember you're with me in the Carver Hawke Appreciation Club.
The main reason why, although I don't mind Dorian/IB, that it will rarely ever happen in my games... is because I want Dorian to call me his best friend at the end, always. That comment is so sweet. x3 And I'm selfish.

Now that was *creepy* as hell (in my Kasumi voice).

That was a nice touch (it felt kind of sudden in my playthrough though. Especially since I got his personal quest and the rumors conversation back to back.) Though I do like the "wat" reaction you can have.
