Hmm, since you said your mage is supposed to become a Rift Mage later, do you want people to help minmax the current build or help you come up with a rift mage build that fits the concept?

If it's about the current build I don't see that much of a problem with it. You might have quite a few active skills for just being level 9, which could cause mana problems, but at least 2 out of the 6 skills are rather situational.

Keep in mind though, that you most likely won't be able to keep your party barriered up while keeping Immolate, Lightning Bold and Energy Barrage on cooldown since massive autoattack-spamming will be needed to keep your mana at a reasonable level. Just means the build won't be running at full efficiency with some wasted cd's. This gets even more noticeable with Flashpoint reseting your cooldowns and Clean Burn shortening them and thus increasing the amount of mana you need to use the build efficiently.

If you really want to stretch into 3 trees that early on, I'd suggest getting rid of either Storm or Inferno and speccing into Winter instead. While Winters Grasp has a higher mana cost than your other offensive skills it lets you reach Winter Stillness which increases your Mana regeneration and the mana generated by autoattacks by 50% which is more than enough to sustain most skills early on.

If you do want at least some Storm and Inferno you could simply go full-elementalist (well except for being a support mage on the side xD) by only taking out the upgraded Lightning Bolt and using those 2 points for Winters Grasp and Stillness.

Same amount of active skills, less mana problems, a freeze/cc, more overall damage due to having more mana and those nasty level 12 Rage Demons in the Hinterlands won't be an issue since you can use the element they're weak against.

As for Rift Mage...it's actually pretty hard to pass up any of the Rift Mage skills in terms of damage, especially since they deal spirit damage which is almost never resisted unlike other elements. I think it'll be very hard to effectively skill the Rift Mage tree, 2 elemental trees AND spirit, but someone else might have more useful information there, since I tend to play Rogues and Necromancers and all I know about Rift Mages is from occasionally controlling Solas ^^
