I hated Leliana in Origins so I was glad to see she wasn't the same dippy broad. My fist started flexing when she talked about shoes, but the Winter Palace is the seat of all evil so I forgave her for backsliding.

Her non-sequitur on shoes actually had a purpose in Inquisition. She was sizing up the other nobles.
Kind of ironic, too, that Morrigan ends up taking her fashion advice at the Winter Palace.
