VOICE ACTING? You can't be ****** serious, DA: I has no voice acting...

I dislike it when my hero stands there like a tree talking to an NPC/companion who also stands there like a tree, it looks silly, like two dead dolls  :pinched:

But the voice acting itself I like, so it's a pro for me, not a con ;)

Edit: And yes the voice acting in the vids you posted is fantastic :)

I've clocked about 100 hours and finished a few days ago:

Pros:Superb cast of characters, easily the best in the series in my opinion. It is mainly what drove me to finish the game.

Great cinematic feel to some of the cutscenes

Some beautiful scenery and general architecture.

Pretty interesting lore, really expanded upon the first two games.

Pretty epic dragon fights, better then Skyrim's anyway.

Awesome soundtrack, one of the best in recent memory.

Cons: Dull combat system overall. The dull part started to really hit me at about lvl 14-15. I played on Normal though, so that's probably part of the reason.

Excessive amount of shallow side quests which fell like padding and not tied to the main quest enough. This is the main reason I've lost       interest in playing my second character.

Main plot was too short and lost momentum after the 1st Act, although there are a few highlights beyond that.

Cliche-as-hell villain, basically what you'd expect.

Epic loot becomes really underwhelming, particularly if you craft most of your gear. I like the fact the crafted stuff is better then what you find, but there needs to be exceptions.

          Shards....ugh. That's all I'll say. I didn't think they were worth it.

Conclusion: From what you've written you'll probably enjoy Inquisition overall, everyone and their pet monkey can pretty much agree it is way better then DA2 at least, just don't be afraid to skip some quests because there's too many frivolous ones.

Well even with it's faults it's still a better game on pc than on console, it just could be a lot better if it was made for pc.

Two then, because I do find both companions/NPCs to be well written, I like the characters. And some of the cutscenes have a very great cinematic feel to them, I like that too.

Wait with buying it until the PC issues are fixed and the DLC's are out. Get the GOTY edition if/when it comes out. Buying it at 60 euro's like I did was painful because the quality wasn't up to the price.

Can you import a save game or only create a world through The Keep with the choices you made from DAO and DA2?

What's the difference?

Importing your file simply imported a list of choices from the previous game. The Keep asks you questions about those same choices, which is imported.

I'm really confused as to why you would think there is a difference.

An imported savegame contains more information than the world state from the keep. For example, you can't choose if your Hawke was nice, sarcastic or rude. Events like dragon fights don't get imported either. I wonder what was so important about the prisoner in Ostagar that he got included, but the High Dragon guarding Andraste's ashes wasn't.

Most importantly, your savegame imports would contain data about your character's skills and gear. If they ever include our Wardens in a future DA game, then I better see them wearing the black Volcanic Aurum armor, dual wielding two longswords and so on.

It's something I didn't like during the Keep beta and what actually surprised me. The Keep syncs with your account(s) and sift through all your data, your achievements etc. But it only takes the character portrait, class and name from your character, nothing else.

I get that it would be difficult to import a full character cross engines but I would have liked it far more if they had taken my Hawke's look from a savegame, without hassling me to re-create her mid-conversation. At least the default looks should have been similiar... but meh.

Yeah... all your misconceptions about your import file are just that - misconceptions.

The import file didn't save any of those things you spoke about. It wasn't some kind of master file that saved every facet of your character. It recorded only a finite number of choices, nothing about your appearance, personality, equipment, classes, enemies slain, etc.

Look up Gibbed Save File Generator - that is an app someone made to create a file just like what DA:O did. The questions it asks cover EVERYTHING the file contained. If it wasn't asked, your import file didn't save it.

In that regard, the Keep has multitudes more information than your Import file did.

It's a decent game.  Not fantastic.  I knew that going in, so I wasn't horribly disappointed.  I'd give it a 7.5.

It's worth $40 or 45, but don't pay $60+.

This guy is right on the money.

I just want to point out that you should probably go to different places to get different opinions of the game. Feedback section are mostly full of people who have some sort of strong frustration with the game. Reddit is a lot more positive. In general, I think it's obvious that the game is better played on the PS4, but I have a good pc and once I reworked the controls, it's fine for me. This game is not perfect, but the Solas romance alone is worth the $60 dollars for me. You may not see all the old characters from the past games, but some of the new ones surpass them all, but that's just me being a rabid Solas fan.

Well, your save file does keep track of all of those things. How else could the game know what's in your inventory when it loads? How else could it track your "dominant tone" for Hawke? The save file, by definition, has to record all of that information you listed.

You are confusing your Save File with your Import File. They are not the same.

DA2 (or ME2 or ME3, for that matter) did not read your previous game's Save File. It read your Import File, created when you beat the game. It only contained certain information flags that were designed to be read simply by a new game, which would have different systems and values than the previous game.

Asking for DA:I to be able to accept any Save File from DA:O, DA:A, DA2 (not to mention all of the DLC) would be maddeningly difficult and result in a broken experience.

I will wait until the PC issues are fixed and DLC is released before even considering buiying this game. $40 is about right.

If importing a save game from DAO after doing all the DLC and "Witch Hunt" is too difficult to impliment.......very simple solution then. Release one last big DLC that finishes off Witch Hunt, one of the three choices you made with Morrigan, answers all the questions, fills in all the holes, Flemeth, God Baby, and properly gives that game DAO closure so no one is complaining and upset that Bioware screwed it up, not continuing with the save game from Witch Hunt..........that's what everyone expected and from that point, is were Bioware dropped the ball..........You could of had a new realm, new characters, start your warden from Witch Hunt at lvl 01 again and use the graphic engine from DA2........

You can import any savegame file you want, I just tried it with lvl3 rogue in Ostagar. So the import file nonsense is BS.

I usually import a DA:O savegame made in camp after the final save for Awakening, too.

I can't remember the names, but some important guy quit after DAO was finsihed becasuse he didn't like the direction Biowqare wanted the series to go.....so they hired someone else to do what they wanted with the series, and DA2 was a disaster.......and DA:I will be just a mediocre game, same thing........compared to what the series could of been.

Bioware should of continued from Witch Hunt, started with the warden one of three choices and gone from there.......like everyone was expecting.......Or close it off with a final DLC properly and start completely fresh with new everything for DA2.......

You do know that Morrigan and her baby are in DA:I, right? That the story with Flemeth etc is continued here? And most likely will play a role in DA4, too?

It's a workable game.  PC controls and bugginess are significantly worse than the prior Dragon Age games IMO.  I get the feeling the PC port was a rush job and they didn't care much about pleasing that section of their customer base.

Yes I know Morrigan stays at Orlais and has her son Kieran "God Baby" and that Flemeth takes out the old God from him into herself and she isn't even Flemeth, she is merged with Mythal........yup, I know all that and in the end, she transfers herself, Mythal and the old God into Solas for her new body...........and that's DA4 ??

It would be all about Flemeth and not much else at that point.

Its a great game. They really went all out, and you can see it clearly with every area and every cutscene. There were several points in the game that left me astounded. How could they put all of this into a game?

This is one of the best games to have been released in the past couple years, but do yourself a favor and buy a controller to play it.

Not needed; simply re-mapping the control Keys before play is good enough, for my system at least. The only awkward Key I have is for Jump, because I wish the Spacebar to be Pause.

Buying a game for $50 - $60 ? and then more money for a controller because it wasn't optimized properly for PC, but they said if was written for the PC.......is not cool.

For me, not beiong able to continue with Morrigan through the gate from Witch Hunt was a major bummer and why I have lost interest in the DA series......Bioware dropped the ball......for better graphics, hack and slash, swearing and sex sex sex everything, and no real plot or storyline and its too short........do I expect DA4 to be fantastic? No. I expect it to be like DA:I and nothing more...........
