Seriously... The guy must be sick or has an OCD...

Why in hell all armor shines so much?

Sounds silly I know... but the characters looks like came out of a medieval museum... all shiny and polished... use that armor man... do some rolling in a puddle of mud or something.

I think it would make the game more dark if the characters were a little rusty and battered... Just saying.

During development, BioWare accidentally gave BSN the impression that armour would tarnish over time with use.  That feature was never in the game, and was never planned.

But I wish it were there, because you're right about the armour.

We could fix it ourselves if they hadn't chosen such an appallingly unmoddable engine.

Lol!!!

This game is not real!!!

If it was, you probably wouldn't see beautiful haircuts, or clean faces.  You wouldn't have female warriors.  You would have a lot of sexism, and there would be no homosexuality or bisexuality.  There would be a lot of dirt, infections, mental health issues, and a significantly shorter life span.

One trouble with this game is it is completely glamourised!   Look to the witcher if you want more grit and reality!

No game with action combat has any claim to realism.

And your comments about sexuality and lifespan are entirely baseless.  Thedas isn't medieval Europe.

It does tarnish a bit. Gets discoloured from the waist down. I'll post a screenshot at some point. I think you need a mesh set at high or ultra for it to show.

I don't know a thing about making graphics and all... but a dull metal texture/shader/whatever shouldn't be less resource demanding than a shiny one???

And about Stahl33 comment: I love the Witcher world, it's one of my favourite setting by far.

I think it shouldn't be that hard to fix (or give both options as in DA:O where you had leather armor Rough/Cured/etc)... and let's be honest bring me one guy how liked Cassandra's armor with "all over the place shinny tacks"...

Yeah that one kinda made me go ....  :o .... too. Alms for the blind.

But talk about the armour? WAIT, WHO DOES THE ROCK POLISHING?! Every single rock shines like a diamond in the game. Dunno if it's because of my crappy xbox360 graphics or if it's generic, but it's really stupid. Even sea-bleached rock doesn't shine that much.

i think elder scrolls online does kinda a good job here with damaged and dirty armor...but youre right, they should really tone down the shine and make armor look more used...it looks really dumb - im also wondering how this could ever pass quality control.

i thought cassandra had the worst armor in general...the only one that looked good on here was the one that gave here some kind of coat

Historically homosexuality has been not only accepted but commonplace, even among straight men. Your thinking around the crusades. There were cleaner, more open times before then. It all depends where we look. Its like, rome had advanced plumbing. Yet in chicago 150 years ago people crapped in the streets. History isn't a linear pattern of advancement.

Systematic sewage disposal and drainage was unknown in the United States, and in 1855 Chicago was in a position to become the first large American city to build a comprehensive sewer system.

Kinda hard to believe, right?
