I've heard wimen have stronger legs than men. Any opinions?
And about pull ups... don't know. I haven't done it since my pull-up tool went to hell! I could do 8-12 before my palms start burning!
Now I can do 70 push ups (without rest). With 30 seconds or 5 minutes rest I can do about 90-150 push ups...
I think it is based on proportion. If I had to compete with a male 115 lbs for squat, lift and hold I am pretty sure I could win every time. I am built for lower body strength. But like any kind of physical attributes you need to keep them toned. I don't plan on becoming pregnant all the time to satisfy this so moderate activity should keep me in some what a health condition. And I am looking forward to my children not needing to be lifted and held so often, as much as I get from doing it.
We already know that by focusing on specific parts of the body, muscle mass can be improved and that by the kind of focus, toning or creating new mass, that the appearance will change as well as the physical capabilities.
Just an after thought: For women working on upper body strength, as you start burning calories fatty tissues start to go. For appearance sake, not that I am overly vain, if you are a B, C, D it is probably not a big issue so long as you don't over do it. If you are an A, you probably are not wanting to move to an AA.
