Not gonna lie, I cringed a bit seeing all these parts laid out on carpet.
They actually have plastic and thin foam from the packaging underneath them. Carpet is flat as f**k anyway. But in this house, there's not really a place a can build it on except the floor tbh.
And great photos, Double D and Budgee. Cooking is awesome.
*touches Double D's hair* Come at me.
Also...
Did someone say boobies?

As long as you're grounded and don't move the system much it's not that big of a deal. I've built systems on carpet before. Honestly, not that you shouldn't take precautions, static isn't that big of an issue as it was in the past. At least in my experience. That said I still use my static strap sometimes, usually when I'm doing any serious gutting or replacing parts.

How do you even build PCs? You're just a bottle of bleach!
What? So suddenly bleach can't do the things others can? That's discrimination you damn Bleachophobe.

Good tools will help.
Almost lost one finger with a angle grinder once. Good times.

Alright, it's 12:42am and my throat is really congested and I know if I sleep it'll be much worse tomorrow, making things more miserable than they currently are. The kicker is, that if I do anything about it now I'd ****** off the rest of my family. What should I do?
Eat these:
As Indians say pepper is the treatment for many illnesses.

Tea with some honey. If you can sneak out to boil some water.

Half of my childhood consisted of throat ache (the other half was tooth ache). My weak spot. I'm a throat ache expert.
A couple of tips: if you have a throat infection drinking enough water is priority number one hands down, an infection paired with a dry throat is killer. In fact not drinking enough water can cause throat infections, I know this from first hand experience.
Next is regularly drinking tiny amounts of vinegar to kill off the surface germ in your throat - extremely effective. Just make sure the vinegar is not too acidic, if its too portent mix it with water. Too much will kill your stomach and burn your throat (not helpful) so be careful. If that does not help you can inhale and clear your throat with salt water, also very effective.
Also make sure the air is not too dry, if it is put some wet towels near your bed when you go to sleep.

This wasn't directed at you, I'm asking Rakia.
Why? Because its usually that damn Yankees that abuse antibiotics like madmen, even for viral infections, making surviving germs become more and more resistant to that kind of medicine.
Newsflash: the body was designed to kill germs, you rarely ever need meds. Its just the pharmaceutical industry brainwashing people to buy tons of their products so they can make big money from their minor ailments. Bonus points for selling meds that have so many side effects you need more meds to counter those additional problems or the permanent damage.
