Holy crap I did not know you could get malaria in Tasmania. Tasmania has been on my must-visit list for ages but now I'm not sure anymore, even the malaria vaccination is no joke.

Yeah it's pretty terrifying. When you take the ferry back from there they quarantine you for a few days at the mouth of Port Phillip and disinfect the entire ship.

Why do people delete accounts? Why not leave it open and just absent yourself?

I'm genuinely curious.

Keep in mind I do fully understand the accidental deletion thing. The number of extremely difficult and complex feats I've accomplished accidentally is rather staggering. It far exceeds the number of complex tasks I have accomplished intentionally.

I'm with you.  I just disappear for weeks/months at a time.  Seems simpler.  Kind of like how when I have too much to drink at a party I slunk out and go put myself to bed without making a formal exit.  Then the next day everyone can be surprised to see you again!

Different reasons I guess. I know E-Ro said he just wanted a break from BSN. So I guess with all the shite that was happening a complete clean break was the best option. Corvus had a discrepancy with a moderation decision and told them to just close it. The you have Turing who used a botched e-mail....then started over lol.

I don't get it either especially if there's the possibility of someone returning. But I think for a lot of people it's: "Why keep it open if I'm not gonna use it?"
