What gave it away?

There is only a slight difference, one must not forget the Euro is almost worth the same as the dollar now, so non-imported ammo costs about the same too. Or used to, since the Obamascare ammo has actually gotten more expensive and scarce in the US than here in EU.
Anyway, AK ammo should be pretty affordable, of course pistol ammo is a whole nother animal. It gets fun if you step it up a little bit, my 300 Winchester Magnum rifle would cost me about 2.5 bucks per shot if I didn't make my own ammo which cuts costs down to 1/3.

That being said, I love having enough ammo in my closet to last an apocalypse or two. 

Guys....  I don't really like guns.

There was much talk of Obama coming after peoples guns during his first election, so people rushed out to buy firearms and ammo. They have had record sales increases, some of which have become permanent, resulting in increased prices and a bit more scarcity.

This hurricane season has me a little on edge tbh. It has been 10 years since Katrina and according to historical records, once every 8-10 years we get a really bad hurricane. Last season we had none and so far this season we still have had zero. The two years before Katrina, it was quiet af. As much as I relish in low category hurricanes, I do not want another big one. Damn house was built in the 60s ffs.

 

And then Louisiana, Texas, and Florida are permanently submerged underwater during the next hurricane...
