you are aware ligaments dont regenerate right?

No problem, doing your exercise correctly does not damage your ligaments in any way. Strength training is about making your entire body and all of its components stronger, not tearing it down.

im perfectly fine with benching 100 and dead lifting 150, if i need to lift more ill use a forklift

I could never be content with my abilities, life is all about improvement. You can never be too strong, too educated, too healthy, too rich....

I'm completely ignored since 6 hours ago in every goddamn thread. I wonder what might be the reason.

Being able to do something few people can do feels great, you should try it sometimes, it might change your opinion.

Sex, bacon, ganja, all nice stuff for sure but easy to get and rather ordinary. Try lifting heavy stuff, that requires you to work very hard for many many years.

Call me crazy, but I'm of the mindset that if I'm working hard and spending years getting to the point of being able to do something few people can do, it's going to be something that is going to get me paid a ton of money, not something that fades with a few months of not exercising.

I don't have any pics/vids of me lifting so here's a vid of someone lifting weights to make up for it.

https://twitter.com/...555995248619520

AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA

I've only watched a little of this kind of wrestling in my life and this guy absorbed my attention the most.

Height has a LOT to do with 'strength'.

A short guy will need MUCH less raw power to do 10 reps of the same weight a tall guy would. He might have to move the weight 20-33% less, and that makes it a LOT easier. Given, he'll be weaker for lifting in the same range, but it'll be harder to show it.

Limb length, skeletal measurements limb and leverage plays a huge role, that's why the strongest deadlifter in History is Benedikt Magnusson with a mere 184cm height. He beats people like Hafthor Björnsson (The Mountain) who is 206 or so centimeters and Brian Shaw who is 203cm. They have such long limbs (leverage) and big spinal angles when picking up something from the floor that they're weaker.

Since it's a picture thread, here's that car I mentioned.

Is it Fiat or Subaru? Cuz I can't see the front or backside of the car and realize it.

I'm only lifting 4 times per week 1.5 hours, you don't have to invest that much into lifting to be halfway good at it, you just have to lift hard, with proper form and a good plan. If you sit in a gym 24/7 you#re doing something very wrong.

Also the strength never fades away completely, because you never lose your technique which puts you far ahead of anyone who tries to lift something with improper technique, you'll be stronger even with the same amount of muscle mass because you know how to use your strength the most efficient way.

Plus there is something called muscle memory, if you stop lifting for a couple of years and start again you'll build muscle much much quicker and you'll get back into your former shape in no time.

...so?

All the money spent on gyms, supplements, protein, equipment and the time spent using all of them for little more than a form of mental masturbation to say you can lift heavy pieces of metal in a useless fashion. Spend a quarter of that money and time getting something like a C++ certification and you are likely to double your annual income the rest of your life.

Not saying exercise or even lifting is bad... but it's a hobby at best, not an achievement.

Then you only know WWE's brand of sports entertainment. Wrestling goes way beyond anything Cena's ever done. He's not even close to the best around;he's just one of the most popular faces(due to WWE's marketing).

It's very satisfying to be able to intimidate the hell out of people who would normally cause issue.

I'd rather take a self defense class like Krav Maga 4 times a week for 1.5 hours. Then you'd have proper form, muscle memory and be in great shape... and can do more than try and throw a haymaker or lift a trash can in case you are in a situation to defend yourself.

Again... not trying to rag on lifting. It's a great form of exercise. I'm just too much of a power gamer - if I'm going to put that much effort into something, it's either got to have a financial pay off or a practical one. It's why I prefer going to kick boxing classes over spending time on a treadmill.

How? Unless you have your deadlift equipment with you in a deserted alley, the guy with a gun trying to rob you isn't going to be impressed.

So doing stuff that is fun and improves your health in your free time is mental masturbation? Wow..

Also I've never used supplements because with a good diet you don't need dodgy protein products, and I've never set foot into a gym in my lifetime. I have free weights and a bench at home and that's all I need.

That's all I have and need:

But not everyone has a gun, I've been in a couple of situation where drunk people on a festival would have beat the crap out of me if I didn't wrestle down the first one that approached me. Also I've been able to scare away similar douche bags with intimidation only.

Now try pulling a gun on a music festival whenever anyone wants to get into a fist fight with you. That won't end well for anyone.

And for the record, I'm a huge gun nut.
