That's not what muscle memory is. Muscle memory refers to the ability to retain a sequence of motor commands after lots of repetition. It's really procedural memory and it reduces the cognitive load so you don't have to think about the movements you're doing once you get them down. Like how your mouth knows how to make a "t" sound. You don't have to think okay first I put the tongue to the roof of my mouth right behind my teeth and then I stop up the airflow and the release it I one bust without using my voicebox. You just talk. But when you were young you had to experiment with all that first.Plus there is something called muscle memory, if you stop lifting for a couple of years and start again you'll build muscle much much quicker and you'll get back into your former shape in no time.
I suppose it could help you remember how to lift something over your head effectively and maybe your good form would build muscle more efficiently?
