Our power is out. That's going to make life with a ten month old exceedingly difficult today.

Pretend it's an adventure! I used to love all the candles coming out during the frequent 1970s power cuts when I was a kid.

Yesterday was good

And this is the last one I'll post for a while, if I don't post any more at all lol. I prefer to just post random crap. But everyone else, post moar. I'm really enjoying this thread tbh. Just a laid back nonsense thread.

In the Australian country, that happens every 5 days.

3rd world countries, I see :P I've experienced like maybe 5 power outages in my life in the Netherlands, all of which lasted less than an hour but one. In that one half the city was without power for... a few hours. :P

Laos was fun though. Having power or not was like a 50-50 on and off thing there, on certain days :P
And Bangkok, of course. Though I never experienced a really long on there either.

Before I came to Canada they were frequent in my country. You could even have a one month load shedding schedule it was awful.

Good thing we learned how to cook using braziers (home made and properly built), water in the morning had to be boiled. It was just awful all ways.

It did force us to talk and know our neighbors tho. Which is good and bad at the same timr

At least it isn't hot and sweltering right now... or freezing cold. That happened to us last year, where our power went out in an ice storm and we couldn't do anything other than pile under every blanket we owned on our couch with my 1 year old daughter and my wife and I, waiting for the heat to kick back on.

When I do re-become the official Queen of BSN?

It's going to happen anyways.

Be wary of conspiracies’. If they elect a president, royalists will be under fire. You should not be surprised if things like your power go out. Power outage? Be aware of metaphors.

Is it wrong that I'm proud of America's gangsters for being realer than England's? XD

Not wrong so much as misguided. Our gangsters are misleading because it is so hard to truly assess a man in penny loafers.

Well, they aren't really the same thing tbh.

Italian Mafia are not the same as London Mob.

I'm allergic to cat fur too. Sometimes I torture myself and pet them anyway.

I'm allergic to cats, but I live with two of them, anyway. #manlyenoughtocuddlewithacat

Actually, I had a needle every week for years as a kid, and it basically eliminated almost all of my allergies, so my cat allergy doesn't bother me unless they scratch me.

That happened to my family when I was a little kid. Power was out for 3 days because a terrible ice storm pulled down trees and power cables all over the place. It was a long, cold three days, mostly spent huddled under blankets.

At least I had a game boy that ran on double A's. :D

*edit*

Of course... This was before they had back lit screens on handhelds. So I couldn't play it after the sun went down. Even sitting next to a candle wasn't enough to see the crappy screens on that thing. :P

The great ice/snow storm of '93 had us without power for a week.  It took years for all the snapped & damaged trees to grow back.

Me and my sister had so much fun digging tunnels through the drifts and snow banks around our house.
