Hello, a lot of what I have to say has been discussed before, but I just wanted to communicate as the hope is that these are read and that more exciting and engaging games are created in the future, or possibly with DLC.
In my game (I was on a PC and did import a world from the DA Keep), I was a female human mage. I did the completionist route and put in approximately 130 hours and made it to level 24.
Overall I didn't notice too many bugs, but there were a few to note:
Unable to unlock the 3rd (and final chamber for me) chamber of Fire in the Solasan temple. Said I didn't have enough shards even though I had collected them all. Bummed that I couldn't get the final bit of fire resistance, or make it to the inner sanctum of the temple. Made it all the way through the Spirit and Cold chambers ok.
In Emprise Du Leon I wasn't able to complete the quest with the quarry lady ("Quarry Quandry"), she just vanished and never came back and so I was not able to confront her.
Also in Emprise, was unable to do the quest "Mama's Ring" -- No matter which character I was, I just could not pick up the item to trigger the quest.
Went to talk to the Elf Keeper in the Plains as conversations with him were to resolve some quests -- when I talked to him, no conversation triggered, just the "You have returned" comment from him.
Suggestions (in no particular order):
It was too easy to get totally down the rabbit hole in the Hinterlands - please make it more clear about what the critical path is for the main story line.
High quality crafted items should be able to be sold for more value, or at least an option to send someone to another kingdom (Antiva?) to go on a trading run or something, or some random auction price -- even gifts to local lords to gain influence or approval?
Unlock the zoom for the tactical camera (at least a bit more).
A couple of really huge decisions that would have an immediate impact on the experience of the (rest of the current) game (eg dire situation where you can only save 2 of the 3 other people in your party and the one is gone for good). It felt like the major decisions didn't really matter that much, or that the consequences of the decisions would unfold in a future game...
Dismiss options for all other party members (besides Sera)
A map that can be bought, or found, that explains the Tier I, II, and III crafting materials and where they can be found would be nice.
Find a way to integrate the High Dragons into a (main) quest, not just unlock some achievement (for slaying them all). It is called "Dragon Age" after all right? The dragon encounters were the most challenging, intense, and scary in the game. Total rush for me, and it would have been really cool if defeating the dragons had somehow been woven into the main plot line. Maybe an enemy can only be killed by a specific magic weapon that can only be crafted with the materials gained from slaying a dragon -- or a cure for Cullen's lyrium addiction/sickness can be eased by a potion with dragon blood?
More ways to repair & configure Skyhold (or other future structures). It was a bit annoying that the hallway to get to the War Council still had rubble and timbers strewn about. On the right track with the options for the tower & courtyard, just need more of those and possible quests added to the table for Skyhold repair?
Skyhold needed to be all-out attacked at least once. All those ramparts and towers.... Oh the possibilities!
More drinking games, and opportunities to embarrass self and council / party members.
I found the masked ball to be tedious. It was just a bit much with all the running around, finding this and that. Wish it was a bit more streamlined and to the point. Tempo got bogged down. Bigger diversity in the outcome as to the ruler of Orlais. More contrast please!
Overall I loved the game. I was addicted (and my family was in the way of my game), and it was cool to be so immersed for a long time. It was very much an improvement over DA:2 and was glad about it for the most part. I was inspired to build a new PC to play this game and thus a monster box was born and that was a fun project in and of itself. I'm just a few days into multiplayer and so I can't really comment on that yet. More to come.
Thank you BioWare for all your hard work. I am a Project Manager in the software industry and I know it can be very difficult to reconcile all the stakeholders wants/needs -- and on time! Overall you should be satisfied with this game. I hope the sales are good enough to keep this franchise going. Looking forward to the next one!
