RTS oder Turn Based or even 4X (or even in the style of heroes of might & magic)....the nations of Thedas and surrounding have some very distinct lore by now and would offer for some interesting factions (qunari, teviner, ferelden, orlais etc.....)

i just recently had the idea while playing da and the war table and thinking about the different factions - i would kinda really enjoy this!!

another idea i had was - if anyone remembers mount and blade multiplayer where you would siege a castle while the other group was trying to defend it? With the keeps already in game, this could be a very interesting addition and alternative to the exisiting multiplayer? maybe some combat abilities would have to be altered slightly tough...

anyway, thats my thoughts...i think the da universe offers so much potential for further game projects outside of rpg's that can be explored (not to say they shouldnt make further rpg's)...

i just think the da universe is one of the most interesting fantasy settings of modern gamging history

i had a fun time playing heroes of dragon age on my phone, that was a strategy in some regards but the combat was automated, team build could be quite random given the nature of the chests, but it was entirely up to you to find a build that worked... eventually you hit a brick wall though in these "freemium" games as they call them, and it just becomes a slog, incredibly tedious and boring after a week or two, but quite enjoyable up to that point

i'm a bit partial to turn-based strategies and role-playing games myself, so i would indeed appreciate dragon age in the form of such

to be honest, for me personally the setting in a turn based strategy game doesnt matter. in this genre gameplay, gamemechanics and balancing is more important than everything else. final fantasy tactics is still one of the best and it looked like a pokemon game :D or if you want a brutal complex game hearts of iron where you only saw symbols and spreadsheets

this doesnt mean i would not like the combat mechanics of divinity original sin in a game like inquisition.

Eight controls is plenty. Really, you only need left- and right-click.

I dunno about 4x -- paradigm's all wrong since everything starts settled. A hardcore wargame would work fine for me.

really? for me the setting is probably one of the most important factors for any game...sure mechanics are important AFTER i like the setting...but im never gonna play a game with super mechanics where i disslike the setting

It's never going to happen, you know this right? Strategy doesn't port well to consoles.

It's a PC genre, EA/Bioware's focus is on the console market especially next gen nowadays. Not to mention they have little experience with the genre itself.
