Does anyone else still feel some sense of loyalty to Ferelden?

It's completely meta-gamed really, but even when there's no logical reason my characters would care I still find myself trying to help Ferelden out. I told Gaspard to bugger off for that reason, he wanted to invade Ferelden in TME.

I guess it's just because it's where I got introduced, but still. Ferelden patriotism, woot.

Anyone else still stuck like this?  :P

So far my Hawke is my only character who was actually a Fereldan, so...meh, not really.

Only reason I'd find myself subconsciously supporting them still is because the bloke on the throne used to be my Warden's buddy, I guess.

Feel the same way. Fereldan understand loyalty, Orlais understand only The Game. The other countries... I don't know what they understand.

No. I no longer care about the most Southern and backwater generic kingdom in a backwater region. And it smells like wet dog.

I'll always love Fereldan. I'm eager to see other places but yeah..Fereldan forever. ^_^ I always pick the Fereldan throne to sit on. It's so badass.

No. I couldn't stand the unwashed backwater in DAO. The best part of every other DA game was not being in the least interesting place in Thedas as much as DAO.

Of course I care about Ferelden. And now that Loghain is finally gone(went out like a hero!) in my game, I guess it is doubly so for me. I guess Loghain is/was like a guardian spirit for Ferelden. :( And after the Blight the situation is doubly precarious, and Ferelden's still vulnerable, even with Celene/Orlais no longer being a threat.

Especially since Alistair is an idiot(lovable, maybe, but as a king? Either he's gallivanting with Varric or Isabella, or is writing goofy letters to the Inquisitor. Honestly, the guy can't find Venatori in his own kitchen!), and Anora is not that powerful, either - they couldn't even prevent Tevinters invading Redcliffe or Crestwood being overrun. So... yeah, I care. And I'm sort of worried my next protagonist might receive a note: "So, Ferelden? Remember that province? Yeah, we conquered it. Again. Sincerely yours, Tevinter."

Yes, I get a bit nostalgic for Ferelden. My Warden died to end the Blight, but also to protect her country and people. So I'll help Ferelden when I can, it has seen enough grief.

Have no worries. It's prophesied that Alistair and Anora will sire a child with the blood of Calenhad and Mac Tir. Gareth Theirin I will be the Dragon Emperor that Ferelden has always needed. With the martial acumen of his grandfather Loghain and the blood of dragons inherited by Alistair, Emperor Gareth will do great things.

Oh yeah. I have to actively restrain my bias towards Ferelden and against Gaspard with my DAI characters, who have no reason to care.

Same here, tbh in my case I don't think loyalty is the right word either. My Hawke is one of the few characters who was actually a Ferelden, and he's not really a patriot, but he misses his home from time to time and doesn't wish to see his homeland fall. However my Hawke's first priority is to protect his family and ensure their welfare first, Kirkwall second when he becomes the champion, since it's a place where his family lived now and where his friends stay, while his homeland the third.

Most of my characters are either a Dwarf or an Elf, and my main Warden who's a Dwarf has no reason to be loyal to Ferelden. He always put Orzammar first, the Grey Wardens duty second. That said he admires Ferelden people's fortitude to hardship and their humbleness.

I also find myself subconsciously supporting Ferelden even as the Inquisitor, and despite that his origin is elsewhere he has no reason to let this nation fall. He'd want to close the Breach and restore order, and keeping Ferelden from falling apart is included in that objective. My Warden still supporting Ferelden because the man on the throne used to be his friend, assuming Alistair still consider my Warden a friend after he choose to spare and conscript Loghain.

Same here. My DN is loyal to Orzammar first, the Grey Wardens second, and society as a whole after that. He tries to find ways that willl benefit everyone and pretty much always does as he's a perceptive bastard but ultimately, he is aiming to bring the Dwarves back to their former glory.

Whereas my Cadash has the same interests at heart (being an ally of my DN's) but is torn on what to do and how to do it.

Honestly, with each PC, I generally hold to the idea that home is wherever the heck s/he feels like settling down. Doesn't matter if it's some dingy city in Ferelden, or a city in Tevinter, or Orlais, or whatever. My Warden liked the freedom, and had no real loyalty to the Grey Wardens beyond simply doing whatever was necessary to kill monsters, my Hawke had no interests beyond simply being with family, and my Inquisitor says straight up to Cassandra that just about anywhere is home enough for her.

Not Ferelden, but Orzammar and the Dalish(and elves in general) yes. Though when specific characters are mentioned I care such as Ban Teagan getting tossed out of Redcliffe.

Never. The only land I will always be loyal to is beloved Tevinter. Thank god that DA4 will finally rid us of Ferelden.

Good thing I arranged peace talks between King Alistair and Queen Anora with Emperor Gaspard. With Southern Thedas at peace we can now focus on expanding North, West and East. Personally I suggest starting with the Free Marches. Long Live the Emperor.

I like Ferelden. The weather, the barbarian roots, doggies, home of Andraste.. And in some ways, it plays up a lot of classic tropes in Fantasy.. whatwith the slight British/Celt setting.

I'm gonna miss it, if they move Dragon Age games north. I have to force myself to give a **** about any of it. I might like it though if I can drop a magical bomb on both Tevinter and Par Vollen.

Since my first ever DA:O character was a Cousland, I feel very very attached to Ferelden. Her being a native Ferelden and all.

Ferelden's people understand loyalty. They have simpler taste & much more to my liking compared to The Game & those refineries of Orlais. I can appreciate Ferelden much more than Orlais... Especially, I'm not big on a country where they like to wear mask & all men walks like Ballerina Dancer & wear tight pants. Come on.
