Game installer sucks.  Make sure you install the game from the 1st drive letter in your CD/DVD drive lineup, or it will bug out all to hell.  For instance, if you have 3 internal drives, (E: F: G:) install from the E: drive.  This might require re-lettering the drives, or switching cables around, or even pulling a cable or two, especially if for instance the first drive in your series is a CD-ROM only drive.  In my case, both my drives were EIDE.

Secondly, stupid configuration defaulted my screen to 16:10.  This is probably good for most people, as its a fairly standard wide screen aspect ratio-however if you have a wide screen monitor that is "HD Ready", or otherwise supports 16:9 native resolutions, go into the configuration tool and change your aspect to 16:9, or the game will not even boot up and give you some crazy errors.
