Okey.

Alt 1: startup your autostart meny, that list Play, Configure, Support, Documentation, Uninstall etc..
Open Configure and go to the the Tab "Save Games". Select "copy ME1 save games" and locate your ME1 save direcotry, not the saves themselves.

Alt2: if you have problems with this do it manually
locate your ME2 save directory and create a directory named ME1 inside that directory.
copy your ME1 save to your newly created ME1 dicrectory

tried both ways. the config utility opens up the folder dialog. i select the ME1 saves folder and hit okay. nothing happens. nothing shows up in the ME2 saves folder.

copypasta -> put an ME1 folder in the ME2 saves, copy and pasted the contents of that directory. nothing shows up on the import screen in ME2.

help?

edit: i know where my saves are stored.  i'm running win7, got both ME1 and ME2 through steam.  Steam is on a different drive than my docs/user folders.

Did you make sure you selected the folder SAVE from My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect/Save?

I am also having this same problem. I have told the configuration where my files are, as well as even manually putting them in ME2's ME1 save folder, and they refuse to show up in game.

yes.  i followed all detailed instructions to the letter...several times.  i know which folders to look in.  i'm looking directly at my saves.  i select the same folder in the config utility.  i copypasta the save to the ME2\\Save\\ME1\\ folder.  nothing.

have you tried what I posted. copy all the "char*.MaaEffetSave" files to your MassEffect 2 /ME1 save directory.

just use the utility.

Point the config utility to your ME1 save directory!

Start the game - go to new game and import should be there.

We did. It either crashes or does nothing.

I copy & pasted my save files int the ME2 save file location, nothing.

We tried the manual way - copy / pasting the save files into the folder. Nothing.

Windows 7 btw

Did you copy the save files manually to a directory named "ME1"?
and does your game crash if you create a normal game when not using the ME1 save?

I too tried both methods and ME2 does not recognize any files in the ME1 folder that is within the save folder that is within the mass effect 2 folder.

Pretty lame that this does not work. Any oher suggestions? I tried downloading several diffrent save game files as well. The intent being to see if, perhaps, the problem was with my save game, but alas none of the save game files I tried are recognized by ME2. :(

same problem here. Also tried the game config saved game importer and manually copying saves over, nothing. I'm using Windows 7 64-but Ultimate. Not sure if everyone else who's having the problem is using Win7.

Import works fine for me, I just put my saves in "My Documents" and pointed the config to it.

My LVL37 Sheppard worked fine.
