Playing archer assassin, I have the following:

Stealth
Full Draw
Looked Like It Hurt
Dance Of Death
Knife In The Shadows


So when I cloak and then Full Draw a target, I get an auto-crit and often a one-shot kill. Now I should get back 50 stamina from the kill, and another 10 stamina from the crit. But I'm always at about 30 stamina afterwards (my max stamina is 100). What's happening here?

I can only confirm "Looked Like It Hurt" is working. You get 10 stamina every time you crit. Not sure about the rest. 

 

There is a possibility that due to Full Draw's delay its not working. Have you tried to long shot someone from stealth?

Nope, no stamina regain on Long Shot either. Cloaked, waited until I was back to full stamina (100), and then killed a poor little ram. Took me down to 50.

I definitely get 50 Stamina back from kills sometimes, but I can't confirm that I get it all the time, or whether I get it from using Long Shot.

 

Edit: Never mind, I thought this was in MP. I have no idea with regards to the SP version of those powers.

Did some further tests on the animals in Emprise. I'm not getting back stamina with either Long Shot or Full Draw. However, I do get it back with Leaping Shot and Hidden Blades.

I don't get the 50 stamina on deathblow, but i get it on everything else.

Did some further tests on the hypothesis that the stamina gain only procs on the base damage of a skill, not the bonus conditional damage. Nope. Never managed to regain stamina with Long Shot, despite standing right next to the target.

Thats a good find. I bet this effects many other on-kill skills

Dance of death does not work with some skills, but your auto attacks it works.

Some more testing... if I stealth and then immediately Long Shot a nug (instakill), I end up on 50 stamina exactly. This suggests that the stamina regain is actually working, since Stealth + LS costs 16+50 sta so I should be on less than 50 sta afterwards. The problem is that it happens BEFORE the cost of LS is deducted, so you'll often bump up against your stamina cap. Basically you need to be on 50 sta or less when you use your attack skill to get the full benefit of Dance of Death.

This happens not just with DoD but also with the masterwork enchantment (great bear hide, 50 sta on kill).
