This is quite simply an issues of "suits vrs developers". Some suit with monetary control said to the dev team "you know, our research shows if you make bodies explode and disappear on death we'll sell x number of more units. Make it happen."
Dev: "Well players like more realistic combat death and loot mechanics. We want to add 24 death moves and persistent corpses."
Suit: "Realisim? Haha haha.. if people want real they can watch the news. Besides, we don't have the budget for that. We have a budget that supports our metrics. Exploding bodies please."

LOL!

This is even more hilarious than the youtube video above your post. :D

BTW, I've played Skyrim for over 100 hours and haven't encountered this bug a single time. It only happens if you deliberately drag dead bodies to a treshold and close/ open the door repeatedly! Haha it's still funny though, especially with the legendary SNES Super Mario music!!!

Yeah I'd love it if they stuck around until you left the area. It'd be great.

I agree it would be better if corpses stayed there until you zone somewhere else.

I get that the bodies have to disappear eventually, but I'm with the op on this Having them turn into ribs, blow up into chunks or glow before disappearing before your eyes is really bad for feeling involved with the game. Just have them fade after enough time has passed that we'll have moved to a new area. And ditch the exploding bodies except for walking bomb.

People saying it creates performance issues are talking out their back sides.. I've played plenty of games, Fallout being one I can remember most, where bodies don't disappear.

I'm the same.

Just one more reason to lament the loss of a toolset. No Decaying Corpses was one of my favourite mods for Origins, even considering the workaround you had to do to get the bodies to actually disappear eventually. For me it's just so much more atmospheric, realistic and immersive to have the bodies... well, not disappear immediately. Feels more like an immersive RPG than say a Super Mario Brothers if you get what I mean - less gamey.

What? No one is buying or not buying a game in significant sales margins over dissappearing corpses of all things.

Dissappearing corpses is a technical/resource issue. Not a financial one.

Absolutely it's financial.

1 animation that covers all deaths and the aftermath is vastly cheaper to make than a variety of killing blows and body physics.

As pointed out on multiple posts:  It has little to do with system resources.  Ask yourself, do you REALLY think there is a significant difference between rendering dozens of 'rib cages and loot bags' and 'corpses', until you zone???

No - there isn't.  Hence why you can kill every monster/baddie in a zone, leave every single loot drop sitting on the ground and never lose a single frame.

It's just cheaper to do it the way EA told them to do it.  Few people complain, so the bean-counters made it happen.

It's just like removing 1 olive from the jar, or making your snickers bar just a tiny bit smaller.  Sure... you eventually notice and complain to your friends and family, but you still buy that damn snickers bar.

Allowing corpse-stay on consoles will bend the laws of the universe and somehow cause performance issues on beastly gaming pcs. It's for our own good op, just in case you didn't know. :P ALL of this is for our own good!

God dammit the more I play the game, the angrier I get because of this RIDICULOUS body disposal system they implemented. Is THIS supposed to be next-gen-gaming? Fallout 3 from 2008 realized ever lasting corpses on weak consoles with preposterous memory capacities. Was it so hard to make them last until the player walks away a few hundred meters Bioware???

Another thing that annoys me to death is the mission objective reminder on the upper right. I constanly have to go to the quest menu and disable quest tracking in order to disable this fugly reminder box. But as soon as I receive a new quest, it automatically pops up again! It drives me crazy!!

Hey, the bodies need to disappear immediately, to make room for the respawns that seem to teleport in.  I remember clearing one Rift in the Hinterlands, and I had literally moved about 10 yards from where the rift was, and suddenly a fully manned bandit camp appeared there, right next to my party.  Just another sign they rushed production of this game, because any competent play testing would have noticed these problems.

The corpses don't dissappear, did you not notice that after you kill templars or mages, they corpses vanish then 20 seconds later they are walking towards you again? It's call 'respawning', everything is immortal in DAI and will respawn just like your favorite MMO. Infact that's why their patches and updates are multiplayer only because they are having you pay to beta their MMO.  So much hype on how fun these MMO fetch quests are, people are saying screw the free ones like GW2, and even WOW who charges 9.99 a month, they'll pay $49.99 a month for more of these fetch quests and instant respawning!

yea that happens at all the rifts, any campable area once the demons are gone then red templars, bandits, etc, who are hiding out in outer space for the rift to go away so the demons won't attack them will tell scotty to beam them down the second the rift is destroyed by you.

It's no worse than DA:O or 2's body disposal. In fact, DA:O actually really bothered me because piles of bones will stay in that same place forever a lot of the time, which is kind of annoying since Arl Eamon, Bann Teagan and even friggin Isolde will stand around while human remains are littered about the castle for most of the quest line. The fact that they instantly turn into a pile of bones doesn't make it much better though. That's some hardcore decomposition right there!
