Well, I forgot about that one gamebreaking thing: Promotions. They are the one factor that can and will bend the game in favor of those who have more time and more resources (better groups, better connection).
How will a humble player using a character having 5 promotions in that class perform next to a player who is using the same character but has 40 promotions in said class? Even if the RNG system bless our humble player with the same Equipment, there would still be a considerable gap in between the players.
Now imagine how wide will this gap become 6 months from now. The game, which already is of questionable acceptance towards its newcomers, will become completely unwelcoming.
Bioware has lost its mind and heart with this Promotion system.

It´s a cooperative game.

It´s a cooperative game.

So its okay if someone is practically invincible, so long as they can't hurt you?

What's the problem with hacking this game for infinite HP and one hit kills, again?

Who talked about hacking? I don´t see your point.

V3gan complained how gamebreaking promotions are. Promotions are a very slow grind, that yield small benefits.

Even if this system gave superpowers, at the end of the day, all four players are still on the same team.

Some people play with a Legionnaire or an AW, they are practically invicible, they can´t hurt me. It´s okay.

Try it. It's fun :)

I can only say from my short experience, in both low and normal difficulty, your results will definitely governed by your wits, your skill & class & selection first (in that order), and your loadout second. Good weapons won't save your behind alone in Perillious either, but it's a little more mandatory to also bring the merchandise there. Generally a crappy equipped character will perform less well than someone with better gear. On the other hand however, simply saving up for a medium loot chest  every second match, gave all the characters I enjoy playing murderous enough killstabbers so that I can keep up just fine. I've binge played the SP campaign, so I only got into the MP two weeks ago; yet I'm rocking a Tier 2 Armor Hunter with an Elite Sniper Bow with a funky +21% crit chance. Nothing to write home about, but also nothing to exactly complain either.I mostly finish first or second, and I dare say I'm a very co-op-oriented type of player.

TL;DR: People with more time on their hands will always have better toys (and 249 promotions), but outside the difficulty that requires a slightly different approach anyways, you can have proper fun very quickly. Getting started felt way quicker than it did in ME3MP.

This is addressed to those who have been latecomers to DAI MP as opposed to those who have been playing since day one.

Frankly speaking, it does not seem to be worth the grind. Every build, without exception is completely dependent on RNG weapons, which you may or may not have, rather than independent powers, which was occasionally the case in ME3 MP but not always, Turian Soldier vs. Asari Adept. The community is far smaller than that of ME3 MP and it is often hard to find games and one must consider the time investment, which would entail in all likelihood hundreds of hour of gameplay, to speak nothing of the many bugs and technical problems in the game. I remain on the fence as to whether or not I should fully commit myself to the game and in doing so dedicate the many hundreds of hours needed for grinding.I am furthermore curious if others who are latecomers to MP feel a similar way.

I can honestly say it is worth it if you have the extra time. I have had the game since release day and I focused on singleplayer until about a week ago. I started playing Multiplayer everyday for at least 15 hours per day and since then I have had no problems catching up and passing a lot of my friends on leaderboards and still working to catch up on the Top 100 leaderboards. Within a week I can say I have almost promoted 25 times, my prestige is over 240, over 500,000 gold, 3 BiS weapons, In total of 13 item level 20 uniques and unlocked every characterer within a little over 126 hours logged. I honestly haven't had to many problems finding games unless its earlier in the morning and normally only for perilous matches.

If your playing with someone who has invested the time to get tons of promotions/great gear it just means you stand a better chance of a smooth run. You'll probable only see someone like that on the lower difficulties if their helping a friend or have just promoted anyway, so it probable won't happen often.

I made the swap from Xbox 360 to PS4 on Christmas Day, sat though two days of connection issues and I already have the (argueably) best bow, best dagger, best 1h sword, two superb heal on kill rings, and every character unlocked.

For me, being a late bloomer hasn't been even remotely an issue.

I have nearly 300k gold looted and none of this :(

A smooth run where you will wonder why you even bothered to drop into isn't really a compelling experience. OP stuff is funny once or twice - then it quickly becomes boring.

By my (proud Krogan) standards, DAMP isn't even a game. To earn that right, it has to have some sort of relationship with the Warrior Code. Combat is decided by lottery tickets. That's inexcusable, laughable and absurd. Even the Salarians wouldn't sink that low. Shame on you Bioware!

I won't even mention the level of Claymoarphobia in this disgrace of a game. That would be to rasist.

Cooperative when played with friends. The same level of cooperation doesn't exist when playing with three randoms. For the most part it can't exist, no matter how badly Bioware wants to sell the game that way.
Also, when Elite players step down to Threatening/Routine with their OP arsenal to play with pugs, I doubt they do it in the hopes of finding a cooperative experience.

What do you mean by "combat is decided with lottery tickets"? It's the first I've heard this.

He means that the RNGsus decides who goes where.

Get a Caliban on your first chest, or on your 300th, or prehaps never.

700k in and still no superb ring of life drain, the best, most important item you can pull. It completely changes the way you can play with EVERY character. RNG for you.

A new player could spend 10k and get 2, equip both, and then do things that i can only currently dream of doing. RNG

I think I read Ability rings don't, but stat rings do. Life on kill does for certain as I have 2 superbs and it is glorious on Reaver.

Crit rings do for sure. Longshot rings definitely don't. Never tested other ability rings.

2 10% heal on kill rings do stack for 20%.

Both rings will stack with Caliban's 16% heal on kill for a total of 36% heal on kill.

Then there is the +27% heal bonus armor upgrade.

I dont have caliban or a heal on kill ring or a sulevin blade. I dont have a thunderstrike either. I have pretty much everything else. I mainly play warriors so I do not get warrior drops.
