Anyhooo... I initially found Cass a little squishy and then I recruited Blackwall, I interchanged them a bit but ended up mostly with Blackwall as he was complimentary with my 2H warrior and he was more often than not the last one standing in fights. I found IB pretty squishy at the start too, but I hear he improves with levelling?

Lore wise I think Cass, and I'm hoping to use her with my mage (usually go the 2 warrior 1mage 1rogue for majority of big fights)

fade touched silverite weapons....then no one is squishy....especially high ROF people

I wound up tanking (as a Champion) my first playthrough, and found it more enjoyable to tank WITH Cas, possibly because she's not quite as inclined to grab mobs off me as Blackwall. That being said, all the other warriors pretty much wound up sitting on their hands until I took them out to get some air out of guilt. Very, very shortly. GO FOR A JOG OKAY BACK TO YOUR CORNERS ILU BYE.

 

Now that I'm playing as a squishy puny magebeast, I have found that hiding behind Blackwall is marginally safer. Every now and then I got impatient with his or Cas's AI and took over the reins, and I will say Cas seems to have an easier time holding attention, whereas Blackwall was better at the whole not dying thing with me driving. Then I spec'd Knight Enchanter and now I find exploding out of people's chests is safer. For me. 

 

Maybe the NEXT playthrough, I'll test which meat shield is best to hide behind for more than like 8 levels.

Ever since blackwall has been outed as a liar, his taunts constantly fail for me. NPCs be like "lolright".

Blackwall is an amazing tank! But Cassandra saved my party when I stumbled into capturing Suledin Keep, lol with her Rally.

For me I just can't seem to get my Blackwall right. I mean, I do only have about 25-30 hours in game so maybe im still doing something wrong, but Cass has always been the mega tank for the party

Blackwall is basically immortal for me, and I much leave him to his own devices. Cassie survives, but her guard falls frequently and she loses health. Blackwall almost always has full guard, and I've never seen him with less than half.
