Is there an easy way to see if a character has more to say?

Short version: Is there a way to determine on sight (before you actually talk to a character) if they have something new to say? Like the conversation bubble as you approach them appearing differently?

Longer version: I have played Origins and DA2, and as far as I can tell, neither game had something like this. I'm wondering if Inquisition has changed that.

If there's a cut scene or the like they'll have an ! In their spot instead of a head on the map, from what I've seen.

! is when they have a quest

so far every time after finishing a quest of major storyline, at least some characters had additional lines...

Sometimes they are standing differently or in a different place or there will be someone standing next to them that is not normally around. These types of things can lead to new conversations.

The only game that I've seen that did that and did it well was Diablo III.

They typically move around when there's no new cinematic conversation. That doesn't mean there isn't any new 3rd person dialogue though, so you'll still want to check. If its a cinematic convo though, they will stand still.
