Solas' romance story is great. He and my Dalish clashed at first, too, but it's totally worth it.
Ideas on who to romance? (second run)

My Dalish clashed her fist into his face ![]()
But seriously, I know a lot of people get very passionate about his romance, and I've read multiple people saying that his romance ties very nicely into the main plot, and gives the romance more weight.

I've only romanced Solas and Blackwall so far. I enjoyed the Blackwall romance, but if you're going to play a female elf, then I'd definitely choose Solas.

Solas is great, he makes female elf playthroughs very unique. You can romance Cullen with a human later, he also has a good romance. I think a human mage gives the ultimate feels when it comes to Cullen.

Second time Blackwall and of course I knew the big twist beforehand. Actually I really like him. And I didn't get so upset about the scene that some other people are talking about (spoiler above) because I just figured that was where he slept so... anyway, it's a lot more intense and he definitely has some issues...but he is committed and that is what counts. Plus he calls you "my lady" - can you resist that ? :-)

Cullen is great. That's a grown up romance. That was my first choice for a Dalish elf mage. Humans are boring to play.
Blackwall is for teenage girls who crave drama.

Shakes head. JFC this fandom sh*ts me some times. I'll remember that... on my 45th birthday in August.Blackwall is for teenage girls who crave drama.
*rolls eyes*
OP, if your after straight up no drama and nice feels go with Cullen, he's cute. If you want angst and you're playing an elf Solas, otherwise big beardy Blackwall. I'm really unsure about IB now thanks to recent events but I'm sure someone can sell him to you. I hear Sera's romance is fun and if you like super sweet, Josie.

Give Solas a try at the beginning of Skyhold and after his quest.
You can always break it up in the second scene and go for the next romance.
Just don't start a romance with Blackwall too early: you'll lock in with him, and then you're in for a world of... Blackwall.

If you're doing a female elf, especially a female elf mage, then I'd highly recommend trying Solas's romance. Even if you didn't like him the first time around, you do see a different side of him if you do his romance, and it feels very connected to the game's story and lore. It also gives the ending a lot more impact.

You'll be different from all the other Inqs here and will by the envy if your whole council.
You might be rubbing your posterior a few times but it's so worth it.

CullenI've started my second playthrough as a female elven mage (first was female elven rogue), but with the British voice this time. I romanced Sera on the first run and it was epic. Having a hard time deciding on this playthru though. Anyone have any favorites? I think as a female I have:
Cullen
Josephine
Blackwall
Sera
Iron Bull
Did I miss any? Are any of these more touching than others or more comedic? My mage is more of a traditional Dalish, with a hint of wisecracking and a weird belief that she is handpicked by Andraste.

Am I missing something? Second pt, female Elf mage, done Orlesian Ball but not Abyss yet.
I feel like there's hardly any content for Solas...?
By comparison, Cullen had a lot more dialogue and scenes. Almost all the scenes with Solas I got anyway just as a party member, albeit with different dialogue. I wondered if they were trying to "make up" for Cullen not being in your party (and so not having banter) but ended up overdoing it the other way.

Necessary? Nope. BTW, far from a teenager. I don't go for pretty boys. Everyone likes something different, no need to be snotty.

Adding another vote for Solas! Adds a very interesting layer to the plot, and allows you to find out some extra lore.
(It will also shatter your heart into tiny fractured pieces, and destroy everything you believe in...

I actually really like the Blackwall V/A, and find him very interesting, layered, and modest as a character. Some of his romance choices leave me a little cold though, as I said, though I understand why people would enjoy his romance. I think he definitely has attractive elements
(also, not a teenager!)

Blackwall's romance is pretty juicy for plot reasons you can imagine. Josephine and Sera are interesting.

Um, OK? I'm not female, haven't been a teenager for over a decade, and thoroughly enjoyed Blackwall's romance.
I like Cullen a lot, and I know he has a very diverse fanbase, but I think he's far more likely than Blackwall to appeal to teenage girls to be honest.

Probably Cullen, his romance is sweet and no angst like other romances. It's very romantic and adorable when he gets shy around you.
