I always get confused when people claim she disapproves of everything they do. I've never have any trouble keeping on her good side even though I'm usually pretty pro-mage/anti-Circle.

I managed it somehow lol But she was still extremely civil to me, and I found her an utterly delightful character.

Nothing wrong with being pro-Mage with her per se (except siding with Fiona). She's a mage after all. She just wants mages to be responsible and respect their own power. She'll still give approval if you make the Inquisition "an example for mages". In that choice, for her, it's either Faith or mages.

Using darling in this thread is just cruel.

The funny thing is I like to hate her lol, if that makes sense.

It does. I feel exactly the same way, and this video reminded me again.

"How can she does this to MY SKYHOLD, that arrogant b!tch! And then speak to me in such a condescending tone and judge me on my actions, which were absolutely neccessary and correct, but were just running against her plans to become head of the circles! The gall, the nerve! I will show you who's boss, darling my a$$!"

I don't think there is any other character I can get so worked up about. I love it!

I got used to it when I moved to London.

There's a lady that works at the closest cornershop from where I live, who calls everyone darling.

I want to choke whoever says darling all thanks to her. Do you know that she actually redecorates Skyhold if she disapproves? THE GALL!

She loved the way I decorated Skyhold. I got the good job cut seen from her the first time I decorated it. Calm yourself darling it is just a few little things.

She's welcome to fan the dust off her self since I never take her anywhere.

I know exactly what you mean. At some point after arriving to Skyhold I felt like if I hear another of her condesending darlings I'm going to hurt someone. She did end up my inquisitor's friend after all. But she's just the kind of character I love to hate - such a magnificent ******.

It's all about how well you play "the game". Vivienne uses darling as both a term of endearment and as condescension. That being said I can't help but hear Vivienne every time I use the word or hear the word used.

I agree. The use of darling that Vivienne is just a pseudonym for the Inquisitor's name. I actually like the use of the darling that she uses. I live in a place where pseudonyms like that get thrown around all the time giving me a warm home like feeling, but it fits Vivienne character as the iron lady. Pseudonyms can be a iron fist in a velvet glove. It is all in the tone as to whether you are getting a kiss or a slap in the face.

It's hilariously stupid you can't throw her out after that. It really really is.

Wait wait..so I can get a Viv redecoration...but only if I get her to disapprove?!

It's like Sophie's choice all over again.

Well if you do a good job you get instead a cutscene where she praises your sense of style, so it's something either way.

My main problem with Vivienne is once you figure her out.(meaning she joined the Inquisition because her life was falling to pieces and she's determined to use The Inquisition to kept on being relevant)

You can't call her out on her bull sh** and kick her out.

I was on a friendly path with her , I don't hate her , but she's clearly trying to manipulate you (if she hates your gut , she just tries to ****** you off and makes you look bad .If she " likes "you , omg.

The Divine talk with her made me sick , you can't tell "look Vivienne , I know what you're doing here , you're not fooling me , you want the throne .I get it.Now could you please stop the whole"We have big choices to make , Darling.Cassandra is indeed a good woman but she lacks the charm required for a divine , darling. But I'm sure We're going to figure something out".

.....No really I'm not a 5 years old , without any opinion and who is so impressed by Viv , I'm not able to give an articulate answer and tell her "there's no "WE" going on here , darling.I don't want you on the throne. Now stop this you're embarassing yourself".

I have to play the oblivious character and gosh it annoys me.

The whole thing with the Duke is on the same level , but I don't want to be an ass or call her out on her manipulation , there.

She wants to capitalize on her lover death and make herself and the Inquisition get benefit from it...fine.

I think that's bordeline distasteful but wtv.

What annoys me is the lack of character agency because the devs decided she always has to look good.

You do realize that you can give her a normal wyvern heart. She'll know that you sabotage the potion and there's a dialogue option to tell her "I hate you"  which basically calls her on being a manipulative snake.

Yeah but I don't want to do that at this moment , can I just play a civilized person and not play her game...and simply tell her I don't enjoy the relationship she has with the Inquisitor?
