I want to choke whoever says darling all thanks to her. Do you know that she actually redecorates Skyhold if she disapproves? THE GALL!

It's hard to believe this is supposed to be someone who was a 'master' of the Game in Orlais when she comes across as incredibly petulant and childish when she doesn't get her way, and the fact that the writing is so biased in her favor that you can't genuinely disagree with her doesn't help, either.

Using darling in this thread is just cruel.

The funny thing is I like to hate her lol, if that makes sense.

BAHAHAHAHA, that's hilarious. Vivienne just pwned her. No wonder people hate her.

Me, we're good pals and agree on pretty much everything.

I could think of many good answers to that but the writers just wanted to make Vivienne appear oh so ''eloquent'' so they silenced the Inquisitor in that scene. Pathetic.

No, this lady ruined darling, by adding extra letters to it.

Thing is you don't get the option to simply ignore whatever she's doing.

IMHO when somebody use those kind of passive agressive tactic , the best answer is simply to not pay attention.(i should know I've done stuff like this to enrage people , and I've been on the receiving end too)

Problem in game you're locked into the cutscene , and you have to give her the satisfaction to again play her game.

That's annoying.

"Darling", "hun" etc. are almost always used in a condescending tone.

Also leave Vivienne alone!

Just because we let her tag along doesn't mean we shouldn't kick her.

I'd toss her out in the cold with her furniture and all. Let's see how she drags it back all the way to Orlais.

I think Vivi is fab, and I wish my Inquisitor had been able to take her up on the offer of a visit to her tailor. Although, I actually do 'darling' and 'my dear' people all the time in conversation, 'sweetie', too. This is possibly not a point in my favour, but whatever. I am essentially what would happen if you gave Vivienne's vocabulary to Dagna.

Anyway, my only complaint with Vivienne is that the Inquisitor never came across as quite her match conversationally or politically, but it's only a minor gripe since I otherwise found her character really refreshing :)

This reminds me of 'Absolutely Fabulous' when Jennifer Saunders says...."Oh no darling....I always look like this" :D

She's one of the most powerul mages in Southern Thedas. Somehow I don't think it would be difficult.

Unless she brought her own servants, then no.

TBH I LIKE to hate her, I don't hate her. I recruit her every time.

Anyway there is only one dialogue where Vivienne is owned and doesn't answer. In the fallow mire an Avaar talks about lady of skies, Vivienne calls it preposterous superstition. The Avaar replies: "The only thing preposterous is what you have worn in a bog, Orlesian."

Yes! All the time! It was actually during one of my IQ's conversations with Vivi that I sat there and thought 'sh*t I do this to people all the time, is this how I sound???' And then I remembered that since I'm 5'2" and bouncy it probably has nowhere near that kind of effect

 ROFL I'm picturing some girl in a frilly dress playing tea with her dolls, and her mom asks her if she wants cookies and says, "Yes, my dear. Be a doll and place them by Mr. Flufilufigus. On your way."

And of course the mom goes along with it for now.

Erm, OK  you're not terribly far off my childhood there, except I was definitely always taught my please and thankyou's

I did actually go 'full Vivienne' on Boxing Day during the card games. It was brilliant and I came away with everyone's money because they got so busy trying to beat me they took ridiculous risks :D

Ah, Sky Watcher. Solas also has an interesting conversation with her in one of their banters:

 Vivienne: So, an apostate?

Solas: That is correct, Enchanter. I did not train in your Circle.

Vivienne: Well, dear, I hope you can take care of yourself, should we encounter anything outside your experience.

Solas: I will try, in my own fumbling way, to learn from how you helped seal the rifts at Haven.  Ah, wait. My memory misleads me. You were not there

Oh and yea, I didn't mean anything by that, that was just basically the only modern setting I could think of where someone would use those words. Unless you were in the British Aristocracy that is.
