Origins:

-The first real cut scene showing the Darkspawn horde emerge from the forest and the Grey Wardens meeting them, then Loghain's betrayal after you light the signal.

-Leliana's song scene at the party camp.  And just the party camp for that matter.  There was something very cool about going back to your closely knit little group of companions in the camp.  It really felt like it was just you against the world.

-After learning the secret of how killing an Archdemon works, I was going back to my room in the castle and saw Morrigan waiting there already looking into the fire.  I got chills, and knew something big was about to happen.  She just looked so sinister, and it somehow clicked with me that I was finally going to find the real reason she came along.  Even though I was in a romance with Leliana, Morrigan convinced me to do the ritual.  It was just too tempting.  Great story writing there.

-After killing the Archdemon (it took me a few tries), the immense satisfaction of watching my Warden pick up a sword and deliver the final blow, and the seeing the flash of light... wondering if I had actually survived or not.  Epic ending.

DA2:

-Bethany dieing in the Deeproads. It broke my heart, because I was already role playing that she was my sister, and Leandra begged me not to take her with me.  I had to cheat and look online to see what could happen to her.  I ended up sending her to the Wardens the first time.

-Watching Hawke's mother die.  After playing Origins, I was convinced I had messed something up and could have saved her if I reloaded, but I couldn't.  It was pretty heartbreaking, and she died in such a horrible twisted way that it was chilling.

-My jaw about hit the floor the first time I saw what Anders was up to and did to the Chantry.  I seriously couldn't believe it.  I could only think that "Oh ****.  I helped him."

Inquisition:

-The whole battle of Haven, through the Dawn Will Come song, to discovering Skyhold for the first time.  I was glued to my screen.  I wish the whole game could have lived up to that.  It was the climax of the game for me.

-Hawke's cameo and role inside the Fade.  Another one of my favorite parts of the game.  I also enjoyed attacking the Warden fortress.  It felt so wrong to be attacking those who were once the heroes.

-After completing the Temple of Mythal, (I let Morrigan drink, and was using a world state where no DR took place), I traveled to the grove of Mythal, Morrigan called out to Mythal to appear, and BOOM... Flemeth shows up.  I was completely shocked and had those familiar chills.

-The after credits reveal of Solas.  Pretty epic.

With so many of us comparing DAO to DAI, etc., this is a good exercise. I'm always curious what people liked so much about DAO and the other games, in case they favour 1 over another. I'm going to limit myself to just 1 moment in each game.

Origins: Loghain's Final Remarks

After a long, brutal campaign against Loghain, you're finally about to topple him from the kingdom to whom it owed much of its existence. Then you meet him in Landsmeet, his villain to your hero...and he says something like:

"We are judged by the strength of our enemies. I wonder which of us is more honoured."

I can't recall the exact quote, but I was so surprised that it impressed me. We were competing over a kingdom and he basically said, "well played". And the truth was, both of us had done some horrible things to get to that point. I just placed the young brash King Behlen on the throne not because he was more rightful, but more ambitious and useful to me. For a moment, I was not sure who was the hero, who was the villain, who was doing the looking.  I decapitated him in front of his daughter with great respect.

DA2: Sorry, I skipped it, as I really disliked the demo

Inquisition: Cassandra Asked Me About the Dalish Pantheon

The whole "Herald of Andraste" thing was getting to me.  In fact, I wasn't much of a fan of the Chantry.  Leliana was nice in DAO, but her religious beliefs were so wacky that I thought they harmed her, and she just had a go at me due to her crisis in faith.  Then you looked at how they used Templars and Mages in the equivalent of the Stanford Prison Experiment, it was bad for everyone.  So here came Cassandra, who was kinda mean to me up to that point, talking about Andraste and the Maker.  I snapped at her that, being an Elf, I didn't even believe in the Maker.  Then she said something like:

"Your pantheon has many gods.  Is there not room for one more?"

Her conviction and humility blew me away.  I've met people who tried to convert me in real life, but Cassandra was talking about the Maker like a friend she wanted to introduce me to.  That point proved to me, that at the very least, a.) Cassandra lived 100% of what she believed and b.) what she believed was that the Maker can be a friend to everyone.  Put in those terms, it opened my mind, even on religion in real life.

After that, I started noticing every time someone says that challenges her faith, she has this cute little pause, not because she doubts, but because she's thinking about how to help this person who is clearly in denial to accept the truth of the Maker.  I found it hilarious, even thought I still wouldn't believe.  What I do believe, though, is a few more people like her and the world would be a better place, whether or not you were in the Chantry.

A question for you - have you ever seen Cassandra pray?  Leliana spends half her time in front of her shrine, Cullen prays when he needs strength.  I don't know if she did in DA2.  I never saw her do it in DAI, she didn't even sing The Dawn Will Come afaik.  IMHO, it's not despite of her faith, but because of it.  IMHO she is on such a first-name-basis with the Maker that she's very informal with him, so that they communicate more directly.

Will endeavor to keep this post brief.

Origins

1)  Seeing Fergus at the Coronation after all was done.  I hadn't expected to ever see him again and fully expected my Cousland lost all her family.

2) Seeing Bryce's 'spirit/copy/whatever that was' in the Gauntlet.

DA2

1) Seeing Cullen finally stand against Meredith's craycray and defend Hawke (regardless of Hawke's class or stance in the fight).

2) Varric's over the top cheesy "high noon" narration of the scene entering Bartrand's estate.  (Humor can be as powerful as any other emotion for me).

3) The after talk with Aveline when Leandra dies.

DAI

1) The first convo with Leliana, where she is struggling with a crisis of faith after losing someone she loved.  I felt her grief and her crisis was beautifully written.

2) Morrigan (who drank from the Well) pleading on bent knee for Flemeth to take her and spare her son really tore at my heart like no other scene in any Dragon Age game.  It was a lovely bit of character growth that reassured me, despite her dislike of Alistair (he was the dad that run), Kieran would have a loving mother who would always put her son first in her life. Beautifully written and acted by both Claudia Black and Kate Mulgrew.

Origins: Dwarf Commoner's "My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius" moment, Loghain's "betrayal", culling the Elves, crowning Bhelen and Loghain sleeping with Morrigan and killing the Archdemon.

2: Cass not takin' none of Varric's bullshit, Aveline being generally badass, Merrill and Seb's banter, Mum dying, purging the mages and Hawke's puntastic finish to MotA.

Inquisition: "I AM THE WILL OF OUR LADY MANIFEST", Hawke and Loghain in the Fade, Loghain again being denied his much desired death, the dawn will come, making Erimond tranquil and watching Corypheus fail at every turn.

Da:O

Archdemon dream, was up late that music made me jump.
When I realized I was going to die because of the Archdemon grey warden thing.
Broodmother.
When morrigan saved my char, for a price...
Killing Loghain and Howe

DA2:
SarcHawke and everything he said.
Mark of the assassin sans Tallis was fun
The way meredith threatened my Hawke when he said he didn't want to help her or something like that. Really made hawke feel more apostaty and made me understand why he stayed in kirkwall, If he tried to leave meredith would probably hunt him down.

DAI
Sera
Pranks with Sera
In your heart shall burn(the quest)
My advisors and companions where all really awesome this game.

DA:O:

The attack on Highever Castle. I didn't expect feces to hit the fan like that, and I didn't expect to lose both Bryce and Eleanor Cousland. It made for a great, frustrated journey for the hero, and I relished the idea of having swift vengeance in the end.

The battle of Ostagar. It was very Lord of the Rings, but whatever. The score for this scene was pretty terrific, and the effect of having to make it across the bridge while darkspawn catapulted fireballs was great fun.

The discovery of the broodmother. "What the sh**", I thought. The buildup to this revelation was satisfyingly creepy with Hespith's rhyming.

Killing Howe. Because f*ck that guy.

The Landsmeet. Getting everyone, save that one jerk, on the Warden's side was satisfying.

The march to Denerim's gates. Having the soldiers cheer the Warden on from the sidelines companions in tow was immensely satisfying.

DA2:

Sarcastic Hawke in general. Because I always love to see a hero that makes a joke out of as much as possible.

Killing Varian. I love how this guy is in such an advantageous position, and Hawke's trusty companion, the Murder Knife, makes quick work of him from a distance. It's always worth a reload.

The Arishok duel, after gaining his respect. That Hawke was regarded as Bas-alit'an by a worthy opponent made this all the sweeter. While it was ultimately marred by the kiting during the actual fight, the overall effect was still very gratifying.

Varania's betrayal. Fenris' companion quest line is easily my favorite of the lot, from the ambush from Hadriana's henchmen to the final showdown in the Hanged Man. Having Danarius show up, sinister as ever, was pretty awesome, as was Fenris' brutal ending of both this contemptible magister and his traitorous sister.

Varric's tall tale of his raid of Bartrand's estate. I actually had to laugh at how overpowered Bianca was in this scene, and how Cassandra saw right through his BS.

Keeper Marethari's death. I actually felt bad for this character, especially when giving Merrill her final words. I'm reluctant to put killing Merrill's clan on this list, but it's a fun battle, and that clan really annoyed me.

The destruction of the Chantry. It was a pretty gripping scene. I knew something was up, but I didn't know it was THAT far up.

DA:I

Both In Hushed Whispers and Champions of the Just had terrific sequences. I myself actually enjoyed the time magic angle, and loved the sacrifice scene of the two lyrium-addled companions and Leliana, as well as the internal struggle with the envy demon on the Templar side, not to mention Cole's assistance.

The battle for Haven/Journey to Skyhold. There's not a single part of this sequence that I could possibly want to change. I loved the battle in Haven itself, and I even loved the trudging through the snow for some reason. It gave me the feeling of the hero struggling and suffering to get to safety, and it was a pretty uplifting sequence to have the survivors singing, then seeing the Inquisitor scouting ahead with Solas to find Skyhold, and finally taking up the role of Inquisitor to a cheering crowd. Easily one of the best moments in the entire series so far for me.

Judging the Avaar goat-thrower. Obviously a joke, but a sufficiently amusing joke that left me smiling. It makes me want an Avaar companion in the future.

Giving Cassandra her book. This was probably the best gift-giving quest of all three games to me, because I adored Cassandra's reaction. It's right up there with retrieving Sten's sword.

Here Lies the Abyss. I loved Having Hawke along for this, and the Fade was pretty terrific, especially with the regaining of the Inquisitor's memories of what happened at the Conclave. The nightmare demon itself was delightfully alien, and the final battle was fairly brutal. While leaving poor Stroud behind didn't have that great an effect on me, deciding what to do with the Wardens themselves made up for it.

Fighting my first dragon with Bull and Sera in the party. The Ferelden Frostback was my first dragon, and it was made better by my opinion that it also has the best battle music of the lot in this game.

Meeting Flemeth. I was glued to the screen with the way Morrigan and Flemeth interacted, especially since Morrigan was the one that drank from the well.

Manly tears moments - pretty much all Ostagar cutscenes, Teyrn Couslands death, the good werewolf conclusion and the great speech/battle/goodbyes and sacrifice in the end

DA2

Only played the demo, Flemeth was nice i guess

DA:I

Waking up in Haven, the trek to Skyhold, the siege of Adamant and Haven, Hawkes death, the dance with Florianne, pretty much all cutscenes with Solas (i have a bit of a manly crush on the guy), wicked grace scene

Origins

The attack on highover and the death of Teryn Cousland and Eleanor.

The opening of the city elf playthough.

The opening of the battle of Ostagar.

The death of the arch-demon.

DA2

Cassandra's all appearances but especially the first time when she stepped out of the shadows.

Flemeth's reappearance, in the fist game she had reminded me too much of my cousin's grandmother, even the voice was similar but was more impressive in her reappearance.

DAI

The opening sequence.

Everything from closing the breach to finding Skyhold was impressive.

The assault on Adamant fortress when your army hardened by fighting rouge Templars, red Templars, venatari and demons assault the fortress fearlessly and force back the wardens. For the first time I truly felt how powerful the inquisition had become.

The dance with and the later foiling of Grand Duchess Florianne's schemes with nothing but words.

The opening sequence to the battle of the Arber wilds to me showed just how wide the influence of the inquisition had become and made me feel truly powerful.

The wicked grace scene.

The first appearance of the Abyssal High Dragon as it landed on a natural arch and flew off leaving stone dust raining down and seeing that abyss that went so deep it becomes black was stunning.

DAO

The moment of conflict when HoF realised she had to leave her parents behind, knowing what that scumbag Howe would do.

The moment of resolution when the HoF spoke to the Guardian at Haven and saw what appeared to be Bryce Cousland, easing some of her pain and guilt.

Ending Howe.

Meeting Hespith and discovering exactly what happened to those captured by the darkspawn.

Defeating Loghain at the Landsmeet.

DA2

Meeting Flemeth and seeing her in her, more or less, true form.

Regretted bringing Bethny to the Deep Roads, she died. (I made sure to bring Anders in another round  :P ) The entire thing went down in the dumps when Leandra died.

Petrice getting what she deserved, pin cushion.

Isabela and Hawke bed romp. The way Isabela went at Hawke was totally unexpected.

The way Keeper Marethari paid the price for Merrill's mistake.

Anders's madness. I ended him.

The final battle with Meredith.

DAI

Tutorial, sealing the rift at the Breach when Corypheus's voice was first heard.

The battle of Haven straight on to finding Skyhold. (outstanding)

Judgement of the Avaar and Florianne. (goat, box and jester!)

The ultimate sacrifice of companions and Leliana.

Winter Palace, ballroom dancing.

Adamant, the confrontation at the end to opening the Rift into the Fade, falling and not landing as expected.

Wicked Grace game.

Cullen's romance; bringing the inquisitor to his fav spot and offering his lucky coin as a gift, and so on.

Cassandra's romance; her ideas as to what she construed/wanted if anyone seriously desires to woo her.

Cassandra's book quest.

Meeting Flemeth in the Fade.

that's what I like about Landsmeet (and Origins generaly), there are never really the "right" choice.

if you think about it, I think the reason Flemeth rescue the Warden and Alistair is because she know about Alistair is of Calenhad's blood and the Warden just "lucky" to be at the side of Alistair when Flemeth did the rescuing. So yeah, the Warden is kind of just a tool.

So much already mentioned ...

DAO: The first "battle-cutscenes", especially when the one trebuchet-shot zooms into my Warden standing on the battlements, that was cool...

The storming of the Darkspawn-Held Fortress in the Deeproads for the Legion of the Dead. Hordes of Darkspawn (finally..^^)

Killing Arl Howe with a Decapitation-Move (and immediately after that I clicked on Lelianna and she gave me the "how is Alistaior in bed?"-bit, so weird!

Alistair finally killing useless Loghain and Anora crying ... so satisfying

The moment to make the decision for the Dark Ritual...I felt truly sorry for my Warden and her Alistair

The celebration in the end, truly a worthy end. Especially with the Alistair-marrying-mod attached ^^

DA2: Not so many actually...Probably Varric on his rampage with bianca, killing all these guys in the mansion. First I was like WTF? Then I laughed my behind off

Hawke's mother dying. I really was thinking there was a way to save her, video-game-style...pretty sad..

Seeing the Qunari on a rampage, killing all the innocents like the murderous bastards they are..and then killing the damn Artichoke for this...wonderful!

DAI: Haven, obviously. With Singing and discovering Skyhold/bein declard Quizzy...very epic

Every little moment between my Quizzy and Cullen was kinda sweet

        Poker with the crew!

The storm on Adamant-castle...MOAR OF THIS, BIOWARE!!! MOAR!!!!!!!

Confronting Samson in the Temple, and...showing him Dagna's little toy with a smile. Funny!

The time-travel in Redcliffe, with poor Lelianna firing her arrows to protect us while the Elder One is coming, but not seen. Epic, tragic, cool...

Discovering Cassandra's preferred type of books ... raised her on top of the best female companion-list

Seeing the "epic" Quanri Dreadnought the first time ... again so satisfying to see the fearsome Qunari fleet is nothing to worry about

There are many moments I liked but if I have to pick favorites..

Origins: I really liked the cutscenes leading up to the battle of denerim, made the darkspawn look dangerous.

Kirkwall: The final qunari plot of act 2, battling through the city, seeing carver as a warden and then kicking the arishocks ass.

Inquisition: This one i have two. First I really enjoyed the Templar quest with the look at the darker inquisition and the urgency of defending the leaders. 2nd had to see morrigan getting to shape shift into a dragon.

Here's hoping we still get plenty more moments to come.

party banter (if i get it QwQ)

the wicked grace scene

Witch hunt dlc teasing me and then Morrigan breaking my heart at the end

Sigrun's attitude in Awakening

Camp. They said this was coming back, sort of, in Inquisition..... They lied.

DA2:

Sarcastic Hawke, she was mindblowing

Isabella.

The horrific discovery of what happened to Leandra

Ander's mind blowing betrayal - And punishing him thusly.

The new look of the Kunari

Inquisition

Corypheus?! (although he was much weaker this time around)

Romancing Leliana once again. Oh wait, I couldn't :( Still, I tried.

Sighting my first dragon (although sadly those battles are sevrely lacking)

Blackwall surprisingly winning me over and me not being able to bring myself to break his heart for Sera.

Dorian being a surprise hit for me.

Meeting up with Hawke again

And throughout all 3, the party banter. Whether Morrigan is telling the Mabari off, Merril's prattling on with herself or Cole is making Blackwall awkward about the size of his sword...... The party banter is always fantastic.

Except in multiplayer where they each have about 3 lines of dialogue that they repeat constantly, honestly, "I've never had my skills so tested in all my life"
