I second your TXI interests. Perhaps I will do that as soon as I get some other projects done. Some of which I owe you already ![]()

90 (at time of writing) views and only one reply... Does nobody else have any plans/hopes/etc that they would be willing to share?

I'm not sure if you're asking for New Year's wishes on NWN custom content alone, or anything related to NWN, or anything at all.
As for NWN CC, my wish is to have a sort of catalogue/repository of CC, complete with a decent screenie, and the ability to very easily collect up what elements I want, and compile them into specific .haks for specific projects. I know it can already be done pretty easily the way things are now, but I'm also sure there are many pieces of excellent CC I miss, and stuff I probably already have come across, but don't know I have, etc.
So, an indexed and intuitive way to see or find what is out there, and then collect it together. Not sure I'm making perfect sense.
Another thing is for everyone involved to be excited, pleased, and happy with their own stuff and the stuff of others. For creators to enjoy their hobby!

I second Frith5's wish for a more accessible way to share CC. Rolo and all the others have done an absolutely heroic job of preserving what we have at the new Vault, and I am immensely thankful, but I do still miss the old one... And a tool for easily integrating CC into haks, and merging relevant 2da's would be invaluable, though understandably near-impossible to implement.
Tarot's hope for new contributors is also something I share. Sometimes these forums can seem to be almost cliquish to newcomers and "lurkers" - understandable for a community of such a small size, but maybe a little off-putting to those who might want to add their own contribution. NWN has always had among the most welcoming and helpful communities around, but there may well be a reluctance for greater numbers of people to contribute if they feel they will be ignored because they are not one of the "big names" around here.
Now, as for a totally unrealistic wish... I'd like to see the engine released as open-source with SRD and the ability to modify and modernize the rendering engine. I know - not gonna happen...

I third Frith5's catalog idea. If I can put less time into textures and models this year, and devote much more time to my library, then maybe we can have that. I had mentioned somewhere, maybe two years ago by now, that I'd like to develop a plug and play type atmosphere for the online cc, much like they did with The Sims Store downloads. Everything had a unique key, and it fit nicely into the overall program. I think we can do that, but it will take a lot of packages to be dissected. For example, many hak files out there contain a larger quantity of content, some of which is not related. If we could strip out all those individual additions, give them a tiny chunk of pseudocode which determines required supermodels, textures, 2da content, etc, then we could do just like The Sims Store. A client side hak merging program would do the rest. Of course that only works perfectly for single play on the client. It does nothing for server files on persistent worlds. Something to think about.

I agree with Frith5 as well. I even tried planning out what it would take to do a prototype of that with just portrait images, but I think the mechanics of doing it are beyond what I'm capable of, even if I had the time.
This year, I want to complete and publish the first module in the series I've been working on for quite some time. Other than that, I want to seriously improve my meager programming skills, but that's not specifically an NWN thing.
