cant seem to post any pix... are there step by step instructions for dummies like me?

Remove the asterisks:

 

[*img]picture.url[*/img]

 

Note that you can only really link the picture, as opposed to "uploading" it, which can usually be accomplished by right-clicking on the image itself, and selecting "copy image url." Then, paste the url in between the image tags. It should initially look like my above example.

 

If you're attempting to do it from a phone, that might not work. I believe most people are unable to link images from a cell phone.

Thanks - but the picture is on my computer so not sure what I can put for a url.

I used to be able to copy and paste an image from my computer, but cant seem to do that anymore

You'll have to upload it to a site that allows hotlinking, first (Flickr, Imgr, etc.)

 

The only exception that I know of is that you can use it as your profile pic by uploading from your hard drive.

remove the asterix from the bbcode if you want that to work.
