Ah, too bad. I find it very interesting. We're really discussing writer's craft.
Oh, the discussing-the-craft part can be worthwhile. But that's not dependent on whether we call something a DEM -- that's a label that gets affixed after the craft.

I think it's part of it. Oh well.
Surprised he didn't have The Last of Us as his #1. His review for it was nothing short of glowing. Yeah I know it was a re-release but he only played it for thr first time this year as he never had it on the PS3. He was positively gushing over it (well, who wouldnt right?) Whereas he was only mostly happy about Inquisition.
I don't think he counts rereleases on his end-of-year lists.
I finally got around to seeing Joe's DA:I review. You know what? I think he was fairly accurate. His score on the PC is 8/10. That is hardly mind blowing. Considering that he gave DA:O 9/10 and DA2 7/10, this game fits right in between the two. I think we would all agree that is where this game belongs - below Origins but better than DA2.
I have no problems with his review. It looks pretty honest to me and he touched on all the issues I have so far (crappy PC interface with weak tactical view being the big one).
I didn't say it wasn't intellectual, or entertaining. I just said that it's useless.
All discussions in the end are ultimately useless. I mean, we are ***** on a forum.
Of course, the real take away should be how what is said is applied further into any discussions. Maybe someone learned something, that's on the right path away from ignorance or apathy.
ETA: Mods have apparently given me a warning for cursing. Seriously?

Mostly cause he can make up his own mind and doesn't suck at games. I recently subbed after I finished Inquisition playthrough.
