Alien romance - MENext

What do you think are the possibilities of getting alien romances in MENext? I'm pretty much sure we can get asari and turian romances, since both these races are very popular and romances (Garrus and Liara) are loved by many fans. Quarian romance might be a possibility too if they're in game still. I mean, we could wipe out the entire race in ME3, so if the devs take our previous choices into account, it would be strange to have quarians in the next game.
As for me, I'd like to see a salarian romance in the next game. I think it could be very interesting. Though I doubt it would happen, aside from maybe a small flirt or something like that.
What's your opinion on the matter?

The more the better, if you ask me. As long as it fits and doesn't seem forced. I hate it when that happens.

I agree, we will probably see Asari, Turian and Quarian romances in the next game if those species are present at all and it certainly will be interesting to see if anymore species get included for romances. Personally a Salarian romance wouldnt be my cup of tea but i would like to see where BioWare take such decisions for the next game ![]()

I never got the appeal of alien romances. I did all of them once just to see the content but human romances were the only ones I can relate to. I think there was a tweet from Mac Walters that pretty much confirmed that alien romances will be in the game. I'd like to see a "romance" with an alien without any sex involved. It might be quite an interesting experiment for Bioware

Miranda is really a blonde, but they could not get the hair right in the ME2 engine.

Maybe with an Ardat-Yakshi. Done right, I think it could be a fascinating romance arc.

Meh....I wish they'd stop catering to the wishes of fanboys/girls.
Imo they should've just left it with humans and Asari. The idea that every species in the galaxy is sexually compatible with the human race is ridiculous. The romances really took a hit in my book when we could all of the sudden bang dextros.

Unless it is a salarian, hanar or volus (am I missing any?) I think it has been implied that all species have sex like humans even asari can have sex like a human female with a human male ( I think?). Reading the codex it seems (other than amino acid differences) humans have most in common with quarians and we evolved on different sides of the galaxy.
It is strange how many species seem to have compatible genitalia with us and other species.

Agreed. I understand this isn't hard SciFi, but the inter-species sex got a bit ridiculous with the inclusion of chitinous, scaly and bubble-suit partners. What happened to cross-species fluid contact dangers? Ugh.
BioWare always falls to fan-service, though. I do appreciate their eagerness to please their fans; but I'd like to see these decisions moderated by narrative (common) sense.

As much as I like the way Garrus' romance was written, I agree. Had it been simply platonic because of the anatomical differences, then that would've been pretty cool. Anyway, I guess it's too late. Garrus and Tali opened the floodgates, the horrible sexy floodgates.

I like the asari as a people (Lt. Kurin fan here), but as a straight female I do not want to be stuck romancing asari. I'm surrounded by humans everyday, so i'd rather romance a male quarian that looks like a human but isn't and only my character would have to worry about fluid intake (epipen anyone?).
I'm also open to the idea of a salarian/human romance with zero sex involved. Simply based on my perception of this relationship...

That would've been really cool. And would've atleast seemed legitimate and wouldn't completely break my immersion.
Dextros can't even eat our food, but due to fan service they can take a load of our bodily fluids. Totally makes sense....

Honestly most recent Bioware romances are nothing but fanservice. They're there there to be there along with cheeasy and awkward sex scenes rather than acually add something to the story like Bastilla in Kotor.
The Garrus romance is probably one of my favs simply beacuse it isn't anything physical about it at all, you know since he's a hideous space monster and all.
It's just about them, the fact that Garrus is awesome and is a perfect match for a non-racist renegade Shep also helps.
The other love interests are so horribly bland,ME1 Kaidan beeing the prime example. And i honestly can't find one likeable personality trait in Miranda, she's basically just a wandering pair of butt cheeks that loves Cerberus.
Same deal with Jacob, he's a nice guy but as interesting as a dirty dishrag in comparison to the rest of the crew, and as far as i'm concerned, whos only purpouse is to hang around the armory looking hot in spandex. Sersiously, the way the camera pans so you can check out his bod when you flirt with him made me cringe so hard i almost got whipplash.
Human, alien, giant sentient mocca-frappocino i don't care! Just aslong they aren't some lame sex object and have an actual personality with a romance that enhances the story and is interesting!

Along with Bastila, Ash and Liara's ME1 romances were my favorite. Because the entirety of the game you were getting to know them. It felt natural, and original. It wasn't what it is now. This systematic flirt flirt flirt in order to achieve a poor excuse for a sex scene in a mature rated game.

The more diversity, the better. Personally, I'm hoping for a female turian this time around. We anticipated the reveal up until ME3 DLCs, only to have our turian squaddie already be taken and die. That's shitty foreplay, Bioware.
Also, I feel like Bioware is way better at creating alien characters. Maybe it's because I can get my humans elsewhere. Maybe aliens are more fun to write.

Salarians are basically impotent. They don't even have sex, but utilize sperm-banks. Why would you want to romance a sperm bank?

Why do you think I want my character to actually have sex with a salarian character? A platonic/asexual romance could work out well. That is, actually, what I want Bioware to do at some point with romances.

I don't care about Salarian relationships, but it would be another drag on development resources which I would rather have focused on creating a good romance between more compatible and aesthetic races. According to most studies, about 3.5% of adults in the US are ******/bi-sexual only, but Bioware already wastes an unproportional amount of money on developing gay content for their games, like they wanted to advertise being gay or something. My guess is that the gay lobbies are just screaming the loudest currently and demand political correctness in every medium despite being a small minority.
Bioware already provides more fringe content than would be reasonable, and in the process they're annoying a lot of their customers - more than they please I would guess. So instead of developing even more content that hardly anybody wants, they should better make a real good romance finally, because the Liara romance was nothing but a joke. I especially hated that she had to constantly remind he that I'm going to die. What the hell? And I don't even want to go down to the Shuttle-Bay anymore in ME3, because Steve constantly pesters me about his lost gay lover with stories I don't care the least about to hear.
PS. funny that the forum censors the word h0m0-sexual.

Being in the minority most LGBT individuals face a lot of discrimination and violence towards them for being openly who they are in the world. At least Bioware is making content for them to openly express themselves enjoyably in an rpg, and even then it is a small amount of content...non-existent really in swtor and only presented in two gay love interests in ME3. The majority of games do not have anything for LGBT or straight women. I am a straight female and am certainly not a minority. There are more straight women than straight men in the world, but then next i'll hear-- but more straight men play ME so all romances should be geared only to straight men.
I wonder if they will include brothels in ME:NEXT where you have to spend a great deal of credits for consorts...extra if it is interspecies.

gay/bi romance options in ME3: Steve Cortez, Samantha Traynor, Kaidan Alenko, Kelly Chambers, Liara T'Soni, Diane Allers, Samara
That would be 7, not 2, and already an extreme over-representation considering considering the percentage of gay people in the US.
So there's really nothing to complain about for gays.

Samara and Kelly don't really count as a romance. Only Diana is a solid argument, but it's a simple fling, there's no story and progressing relationship between characters.gay/bi romance options in ME3: Steve Cortez, Samantha Traynor, Kaidan Alenko, Kelly Chambers, Liara T'Soni, Diane Allers, Samara

And, just so you know - a male love interest for gay protagonist doesn't necessarily satisfy a lesbian woman and vice versa. A person can enjoy it (as I, bisexual woman, enjoy Steve and Kaidan with MShep romances), but the game still lacks representation. So, gay men in ME3 have two options (Steve and Kaidan) and gay women - two (Samantha and Liara) or three if you count Diana.
