I've never seen the Garrus romance. What does she do exactly? 

 

 

 

 

It starts out kinda sleezy but it ends up awesome. Especially in ME3 where it's more fleshed out and very sweet.

I thought it weird that by the last game only Kaidan.....*snorrrrrrre*....oh sorry I fell asleep for a moment... seemed to be best male candidate for femshep since Jacob cheats and Thane dies. Garrus still flirts with Tali in both ME2 and ME3 if he is your romance. Poor taste, but I do not think BioWare cared much for femshep anyways. All manshep's female candidates love him to the moon and back, especially Tali. I do not think  the same can be said for Garrus. He pretty much said femshep was unattractive and sounded uncomfortable about her hair. He refuses to reciprocate love to femshep on the citadel shooting date when she tells him she loves him. He struggles to say he loves femshep in the final beam run and that made me disappointed in him since that may be the last time he sees her. I think the writers did not like the Turian romance with a human.

 

I really did not find Kaidan attractive at all. I like Zaeed....so sexy with sexy scars and voice....okay, but Kelly says she does not feel safe alone with him and that scared me. Anyways, I have resentment towards Kaidan since I chose Thane and felt the game keeps pushing me to Kaidan before and after Thane died. Again poor taste! Oh well, maybe next game we get smoother romances.

 

 

Yah, I hear what you're saying.  However, I think that BioWare also wanted it that way, for the story.  During war. we all know that one of the things that we are ripped away from are the people that we care about.  So, the only thing that'll consistently be there is Ash/Kaiden. 

 

I dunno, I'm not sure.   Just thinking.

I'm straight and male, and even I think Zaeed would've been cool for Femshep. He could've filled that niche that Jack kind of does for males (kind of the bruised and badass Terminus humans). Especially if they made him a little younger (but then, we'd probably lose Robin Sachs).

Oh, I definitely wouldn't have said no to a Zaeed romance. The rugged older man thing  could definitely work for some of my Sheps. Besides, I think femShep really needed a ruthless LI as an option. The closest she gets is Garrus, but I don't consider him ruthless - just a bit of a vigilante. Zaeed with a renegade Shep would've been marvellous!

She suggests skipping the sparring go directly to the tiebreaker and that they could test his reach and her flexibility.

The interactions after that scene tend to be "let's research how to have sex" and "we don't have to do this if you don't want to Garrus". Then the pre-suicide mission romance scene has him fumbling for a compliment. I guess it could be cute, but it just felt really awkward to me. Better in ME3 though.

I think it's good to have some romances that start out as "hey, you're hot, let's do the horizontal tango". It's not for everyone, but variety is good.

Actually, I'd quite like to see an occasion that started like that and didn't progress to something romantic.

I think it's the best written romance of ME3.

I think Isabela is the closest Bioware came to this. And maybe not even that.

Isabela would count I think, but only if the player chooses not to pursue the romance. All the companions that will sleep with the protagonist are ultimately willing to have a romantic relationship.

I just did a Garrus romance run and I got absolutely none of the vibes with the Garrus romance, and how people can come to that conclusion in ME3 is beyond me. ME2 all the romances are awkward as hell I agree (why does Jack go from being a crazy psychopath deep rooted in her "me or them" attitude to deciding she's lonely from a couple conversations), but every romance scene from pre-Suicide Mission till Shepard saying goodbye to Garrus at the beam run is pure heartfelt gold. Garrus isn't fumbling for a compliment in that scene. He's fumbling because literally everything Garrus has tried to do in his life has blown up in his face and left him physically and emotionally scarred. He even says that he's nervous because of those reasons. How do you come to that conclusion?

 

Also his time-spending scene in ME3, again how the F can people get those vibes? They literally flirt up until Garrus embraces her asking if she's ready to be a one-Turian woman. Garrus flirting with Tali is hardly proof of insincerity because a) high stress missions requires ways to release stress, and Garrus is known to be wonderful at keeping conversations going b )you can flirt with anyone at any time despite being in a romance until you speak to your love interest and have to confess. If none of those things can convince you, then do a quiet Citadel party and enjoy the wonderful dialogue between Zaeed and Garrus as they rig your apartment to protect you. The code to disarm the defense systems is "I heart Garrus" for crying out loud lol.

He's fumbling because he is a Turian and FemShep is human. Humans wouldn't be physically attractive to Turians. The species are too different, unlike Quarians or Asari. The writers were giving that a nod. He doesn't know how to compliment Fem Shep because he's not drawn to her because of her physical appearance.

I think it is both; so many things Garrus has tried to do has ended horribly and he wants this to go right because of how he feels about Shepard and where it could potentially lead but he is also nervous and fumbling because he does not know how to act or what to say that would be appealing to a human. 

 

I believe Garrus even says something to the extend of not considering humans but because Shepard is Shepard, he considers them.

 

There's so much good in that scene, in my opinion, and I love every bit of it.

Garrus' ME2 romance builds upon their relationship of trust and respect. Garrus doesn't straight up declare his love because he's a cautious kind of guy who's prepared for the worst, so he doesn't spend his time daydreaming about such a thing. But he clearly trusts Shepard enough to test their relationship in a cross-species liaison, even when he already values their friendship so much.

 

And there's no doubt that he falls in love, especially with all the flirty moments in ME3. Thinking back to the 'goodbye' scene, Garrus sees a future either growing old and raising children with Shepard (which clearly has been on his mind for awhile, given his breakup dialogue on the Citadel date... not that I ever personally did that) or spending an eternity together in turian-human heaven. I get teary-eyed just thinking about it, thank god we have MEHEM.

I never had Garrus flirt with Tali when I romanced him in ME3. Then again it was a while ago since I can't bring myself to romance either after learning they become a couple, which sucks because they were my favorite LIs.

But I don't see why it matters if you like one of them.

Because as stupid as it sounds I don't like breaking them up by romancing one. It feels like I'm ruining something.
