I really wanted to put a 'your mom' joke in here. Couldn't find a way to make it fit.

ETA: no one knows.

I would bet March on XBox, May on other platforms.

i would guess april-ish.

And yeah xbox gets it early but that just means every other platform is just going to get a less buggy version.

Doesn't that seem like a long time to wait? The game came out in November. That would be 5 or more months after release for the first DLC. And didn't they say XBox would get it 2 weeks earlier, not months?

I wanted to put one in too but yo mamma so fat she ain't even got cellulite, she got celluHEAVAAAAAAY, no way she's gonna fit in here.

I'd think single-player DLC might be Marchish.  I'm presuming there needs to be time for the market to absorb Inquisition, play and enjoy, and then market for the DLC.  I'm also presuming that Bioware/EA won't want to have their DLC become forgotten when the Witcher starts ramping up marketing and is actually released.  So March seems like a comfortable window both from a market standpoint and a basic "work" standpoint, as these things take time too.

Side note:  I really don't like the Witcher games but they're hugely popular and I'll be the first to admit that CDPR deserves all the admiration and praise they're given.

I'm just glad we're getting DLC. The ending feel a bit "empty"

Honestly that's pretty basic for a game like this.

Most rpg's don't have real story DLC come out for a few months after its release. and since they stated they weren't working on any DLC prior to game release that means they have to make it from scratch now since they don't have any pieces of it prebuilt on the game disc. (since certain bioware fans had a freak out about it when they found out developer do that since it makes it easier to put said dlc out.)

honestly i wouldn't expect us to see story dlc for 4-6 months.

Fallout New Vegas came out in October. first DLC was in February

mass effect 3 was released in march. Leviathan was released in august.

Battlefield 4 released in October. First dlc release in February  (Yes i'm ignoring China rising because it was Day One DLC)

We don't know how much earlier XB1 gets it yet, as far as I know (latest I heard). Estimates have been 1-3 months, which is fairly standard. I'd be surprised if it was less than 30 days proper. I'd guess they get it no earlier than March, but sometime in the Spring, and it comes out proper in the midsummer.

I hope they don't get it more than 2 weeks earlier, or it will be difficult for everyone else to avoid spoilers.

I wonder if it would be wise to wait till May to release dlc. When May comes around, Witcher 3 will be releasing, and that's going to be a huge competitor. If they had any sense, they would make sure any substantial dlc would be released before then, or after, so as not have to split the market with Geralt...

Mass Effect 3 also stopped all production on content after release to start working on the Extended Cut, Battlefield 4 stopped all DLC production to try and fix the server issues, and New Vegas also had issues they needed to work out.

My expectations are more of what BioWare has done in the past with Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, with having four major story DLC being released during a year about three months apart.

What about armor, weapons, hairstyle choice type dlcs. Those often come out quickly, no?

BioWare normally only releases a couple of them and with Mass Effect 3 they released three one alternate armor pack and two weapon packs based on multiplayer weapons.  Normally they just bundle the extra weapons and armor into the story missions for that is where the pre-order DLC wound up for Mass Effect 3 aside from the Defender Armor from GameStop.

To the topic at hand I think threads like this show how fractured the BioWare forums really are, for you have one segment ready to riot based on the fact there is DLC for a game and they are going to cost money to buy story DLC "which has been ripped from the game to be sold off to gouge players" and now you have people asking when the first DLC is going to be released.

Honestly its a pretty basic release schedule and a safe bet that i have no problem with. i think episodic DLC has proven this. and honestly i hope they do something like Fallout New Vegas because i was more than happy to purchase all the DLC for that game, and gave me enough time to play through, to fully complete and then get excited for the next DLC.

And since they have pretty much said we wont be getting a Expansion, I do hope we at least get a good amount of DLC.

and the timed exclusive will most likely be just a month since that is the wait time on their other DLC timed exclusive like Call of Duty map packs.

But didn't they say the FIRST DLC will be timed exclusive. not that all of them will be timed exclusive.

ME3 hit March 2012. Extended Cut hit in June 2012. Leviathan in August 2012. From what I hear, EA never planned to release an Extended Cut. But due to overwhelming fan outrage (over the original ending) the schedule was changed. So we talking 3 months or so.

If BW holds true that would mean at around March. But (and a big BUT) there are many bugs and PC issues too work out. I hope they release a patch or 2 before March 2015. I also hope the DLC makes changes to the game play. And one final note - we don't know how successful this game has been. EA has to announce financial results soon. So we'll see if they mention this game. If not, that's telling.

I have completed two separate runs of Inquisition. My first game with a female Dalish archer started on early EA Access day and I only finished that up this past Monday. That game ran for I think 185 hours.

My second game with a female human mage began the day that game arrived upon release, and I opted to end that one slightly earlier than its predecessor by a week (give or take). The thing is, I still don't feel like I've mined much of the playability out of this game. I have another couple of concurrent runs in progress, this time with male Inquisitors: a Qunari mage and a dwarf two-handed warrior. I'm also chomping at the bit to tackle another male elf, so don't think poorly of me if I start another game just to design the look of that Inquisitor too!

I look forward to experiencing whatever the eventual dlc brings to the Inquisition, but man, it is far TOO early to start getting "antsy" for it. I fail to see how anyone could already be so burned out on this massive enterprise to be fielding such a query?

My understanding its the first story DLC that will be a time exclusive, but they have never been really clear either for all I have seen about the time exclusivity is the one video from Microsoft with that line of text.

They already said the game has outsold both games.

I think it was it outsold on a comparable time frame, so it sold better then both games did in the first two weeks, but considering Mass Effect 3 outsold even Dragon Age: Origins (according to unreliable sources VGChartz) with all the hatred that people give the game I can't see Inquisition doing better over a longer period of time since Origins had a worse launch on consoles then Inquisition on the PC.

Hopefully we have less DLCs and more EXPANSIONS

I doubt it for expansions normally aren't something that a lot developers really develop anymore because of the cost/time ratio versus DLC.  There might be people on the BSN that would buy an expansion, but a lot of people don't go back to a game after they beaten it.  Besides I find that BioWare DLC tends to give about the same level of content as an expansion just broken into several releases.

There are the same level of bugs that are present in any BioWare game and far less then most recent releases of many games and definitely far less then any Bethesda/Obsidian game.  The PC version does require a little more tuning for controls and remaining driver issues, but the console versions from what I am being told is running fairly well.

Probably:

  • "Later" TM, rather than
  • "Soon" TM

Of higher priority is

Multiplayer DLC

Probably:

  • Sometime "Soon" TM

Patch 3

is surely the highest priority which is

They've been saying for a year or longer that there won't be any Awakening-style expansions. They don't make money.

They already said the game has outsold both games.

At launch? That's not actually very telling since Origins was a slow starter.

The actual story of Inquisition is unsatisfying and most of the side content is just fetch quests. Exploring is really fun, and finding new stuff on subsequent playthroughs is always cool, but Inquisition needs more and better story missions.

Well we already got the first multiplayer dlc before xmas, so most likely a couple of more before true dlc comes for the story.

And yeah xbox only gets the first storycontent dlc first, and thats it xbox did clear that up during E3 but its mircosoft so probbly lied who knows, but here is a link from way back then by one of the gaming sites covering it and also a little insight into what it will be so two links.

http://www.eurogamer...t-first-on-xbox

still a little vauge on the extact detils, but uit will be an adventure style dlc from the sounds of it.

But the first one most likely will come out a little faster since xboxes get it first so they don't have to pay attention to the other systems, which leads me to think the time will be longer then 30 daysz
