Hai Guyz.,

I just killed 8 out of the 10 Dragons. I just crafted some awesome weapons and Armor, but why? The Dragons at Emprise Du Lion are actually the hardest enemies in the game. (the Last Dragon is level 23, Corypheous is only level 19). What am I to do?

Corypheus is not a set level, I think he levels up around to your level. I think he was level 24 on my first PT.

Certain enemies scale to your level. Corypheus is one of them. He's the final boss, they don't want you to outlevel him.

Maybe DLC will introduce some super hard secret bosses hidden throughout the world like the emerald and ruby weapons of FF7?

This is something I would definitely welcome. Special "hidden" encounters like maybe a level 30 boss, fighting two dragons simultaneously. Alternatively challenging content like a multi-level dungeon, etc.

Does Cory get new powers on higher levels? In my second PT he was doing some rather annoying things.

that or they could just do this as part of the $60 game like in years past.. why people are willing to pay extra for stuff that used to be included in the original game (i.e. secret bosses, weapons, etc) is beyond me..

A corteous and elegant solution, not as clumsy and rapacious as a DLC.
A business method of a more civilized age.
I suspect they do not know better.

Alternatively; times change.

Kill them because you want to, not for the "use" you get out of it, would be my suggestion. Gear-escalation has to stop at some point (unless it's a MMO where people pay so they can grind gear to grind better gear ad infinitum), and it stands to reason that the most powerful creatures in the world are the end point.

I am unsure of what you mean? You saying dragons are too easy, or are you saying that your gear (likely CRAFTED) is too powerful?

Note: I capitalize certain words for emphasis, not to shout. If shouting the whole sentence is capitalized.

Games cost a lot more than they used to.

I believe the OP's idea is that by the time you've gotten some of the best gear in the game, there's next to nothing left to use it on.

Isn't that kind of the point of the awesome rewards? That they are rewarded from beating the tough guys? Like trophies?

Well a couple things you can do if you're worried about ease.  Increase difficulty if you're not already playing on Nightmare.  Turn on FF if it isn't on.  In general, Cory and his pet are among the easier boss fights.  I found the Duchess fight way more difficult (though I was much lower in level.)

To me the whole point of grinding through everything to max my level, get that sweet suit of armor and boss staff or bow, all those resistance buffs from Solasan is preparation to crush (not just defeat) Cory.  For me it is very satisfying to stomp the cr*p out of him...and damn, you gotta look good doing it as well.

Where are all the dragon heads anyway? Josie says they're in an obvious location

I kind of want a dragon head in my bedroom. The ceiling is so high (heating that room must be a nightmare), it could really do with something to fill the space.

The game is already out so either new content is added via DLC or it's not added at all. Games are a lot more complex and expensive to make than they used to be and I have no problem paying an extra $5-20 for side content (or more for a full expansion) to make up the cost. I never got why people whine about having to pay a few dollars for extra content.

Well, I somehow managed to beat the game without slaying even one dragon... O.o The idea was that I'd wait to get to a higher level before tackling a dragon. But then, the last mission unlocked for me ~50 hrs into the game. And I was like, f*** it. I'm finishing this. I was level 18. I might just go on a dragon hunt post-game :)

Agreed.

My first playthrough I mostly left the dragons alone. Aside from the dragon taming quest and Cory's dragon, I didn't kill any other dragons. It was a rushed PT and I finished the game at level 16 (crazy fast I know).

Then I rerolled another character for my completionist playthrough. My character this time is a fem elf mage. I wanted that keeper robe for her for role playing reason. But by the time I saved up enough money to buy the one in the Dalish shop (didn't want to destroy the grave site of my ancestors. It was a very lore bound playthrough), I was already crafting armors much stronger than the ones in the shop (as well as random drop). So the next thing for me to do then is to get the schematics and craft my own version of the keeper robe.

Alas... there is only one confirmed drop for keeper robe schematic. It's from the level 23 dragon in Emprise du Lion.

I've killed the level 21 next to it... but I'm worried once I finally get the schematic... there wouldn't be much reason to make it anymore because I would have leveled the floor with anything not a dragon.

Not if there's going to be a post-game DLC, which I'm pretty sure we'll get, hopefully before the year's out.

I haven't reached that point yet, but I doubt that it's a catch 22. Mostly because it's pretty rare that people refer to a catch 22 correctly.

Catch 22 actually refers to when your commitment to something is repeatedly extended through a reactionary readjustment of your contractual or legal obligations. I think the closest example in civilian life would be cell phone contracts.

That's a narrower definition than appears in Heller's book. At times, it appears to be what you're talking about (or, at the very least, paradoxical rules that prevent somebody from escaping a situation) but late in the story it is basically invoked as an excuse for the naked exercise of force for arbitrary ends.

Either way, it doesn't apply to what the OP is talking about.

In Previous Bioware Games, Killing Dragons usually ended up in big rewards useful before the game ended. Although most games only had 2-3 Dragons in them.

I couldn't find any legit figures, however FFVII was advertised as a "multi-million dollar masterpiece", back in 1997. Grand Theft Auto on the other hand costed over $200 Million, rivaling the budget of a summer blockbuster. I am also guessing that the advent of broadband internet has changed how games modified post-release. I have not purchased a hard copy of a game since 2011. I remember back in the early 90s when patches used to come on floppy disks with PC gaming magazines.

Killing the last dragons is fun and potentially challenging. If you find it fun, it's worth it for that alone.

There will probably be post-game DLC where you can eventually use your new, fancy gear though.
