This happened to me the other day while playing and I was wondering what other people would do in the same situation. So in a pug and it's about mid round 5 and everyone else has either bled out or used up all of their revives, should I attempt to finish the round or just get myself killed to end the game quicker so we can possibly start a new game?

Fight.. fight until your last breath.. Do not lay down and die.. fight!
EDIT: But then I have rings that give me health on kill so I can fight on.

Pretty much ^this. You might fail, but those times when you actually pull it off feel amazing. ![]()
And yes- the HOK rings are sick. I've only found one, but all of my toons wear it.

If you can beat it, I will fight to the end, cause you get gold for completing the wave, but not if you fail. If you know you can't beat it yourself then it will probably be better just to cut it short
Second point is some players who actually watch you play, might learn some strategies from the way you play and survive that hadn't occurred to them.

I had this the other day.
I'm running an Alchemist, which I love.
(Flank Attack + Mines build)
The thing about squishy stealth characters is you just don't go for the heroic revive when the Templar Commander is standing over the crawling body.
It's essentially suicide, even if I do feel bad about not trying as they spam 'come here'...
It took a further half dozen minions to stealth kill
and then bombing the Commander a few times.
But completing the mission is worth it, yes?

I'll always go down fighting, but since I typically prefer playing melee characters there's not alot of room for kiting about.

As long as I still need to complete Challenges for victories with that character/difficulty I'll go for it, and even if they get finished and it won't take too long I might as well give it a shot regardless.

Most people aren't going to get irritated at you taking too long unless they are trying to speedrun because you get a paltry amount of gold (like 1.5 nugs) for doing 5/5 anyway. If speedrunning, ask the team what they want, and suicide if team tells you to.
But if not speedrunning, it's highly entertaining to watch 1 person try to kill 50 mobs with a boss constantly chasing him for 10 minutes straight, so long as the still-living person isn't an arcane warrior. Not being sarcastic. I've seen some very creative and good gameplay the few times I've had the opportunity to see things like that. And some players just really want the mission complete out of principle.

The group or individual did not use potions or did not have any.
The group did not pay attention and allowed to many ranged to build up.
The group set up did not work well i.e had one group( me on my ele 2 on there kataris and 1 on a alchemist).
Got stuck on 5/5 soloing dc on threating with almost all of his adds thankgod for my gear 200hp belt ,2 hok rings, 10 con neck ,heal on hit staff with hok buff on it and the tank ele build barrier, siphon, fire storm, fade step and frost step.

Guys why not look at this a different way why is everyone else dead?,Did they avoid using there health potions like alot do?, did they have healing mist or regeneration potions on them and did they even think to use them?. Alot of groups wipe because someone does something silly and then refuses to use a potion to fix said mistake. There is more questions what killed the other three but has the fourth soloing?. The point is it is normally one of a few choices:
The group or individual did not use potions or did not have any.

or the red templar commander spammed his earthquake move 5 times in a row or leaping shot glitched and instead of jumping away you stand there like a tool wondering why you are still in the way of said earthquake move, or the katari tried to be a superstar throughout the entire dungeon run and died in two of the rooms and as soon as the boss looked at him he collapsed of shock and died.... point is.. many things can happen to cause a team to go down.

It's much like ME3 MP. You could die heroically trying to revive teammates surrounded by baddies and get yoursef killed in a pinch. It has a dramatic type of doomed heroism to it.
Truthfully, I'd just as soon have you cluch the round than die trying to revive me (vice versa). We came here to kick enemy butt, right!?
As mentioned, sometimes it is of benefit to have others watch you play as they might learn something to improve their game.

I had to solo most of the 5/5 vs demons on my legionnaire having 0 offensive abilities, I don't even want to know how long it took to stare them down, next time I'll just leave, other classes it's most likely worth it to stay

Damned right I'm gonna finish! Just to let everyone watch and see how freaking awesome I was (much to my own surprise as well)!! Just watched a Mage finish my game and she was fantastic.
@MofoJokers Don't care why they died cuz, guess what dude, if we didn't die it wouldn't be a bloody challenge!
