You can see what I'm doing in this video here, how long can I play before just zooming through these conversation choices will do something that ruins my game? I have a theory that the story doesn't matter until the middle/end of the game, and I already read all about the game, I know what's going on. and I like to get right to the playing.
How important are my choices early in the game?

Your choices only matter as far as companion approval and with the mages or Templars, you get a different quest depending on who you pick. (and for the second to last mission it plays out a bit different depending on a choice you make there) but it's not possible to screw up the game and there is only one ending.

thanks, appreciate that. I watched let's plays (to only a point, before I decided to buy the game) so I kind of know but, I just like to know I can blast past it and I'll be able to finish the game.

You can end up making Lelianna very a hard, mean, throat slashing, vindictive, killing machine, if you don't pick the right choices almost from the first time you can speak with her. That has severe consequences for a lot of people, according to the ending slides but it doesn't actually affect your game while you are playing it.

Strange how people want to get through the game so quickly. Blasting pass certain dialogue options can change your game drastically. Beware, be very aware.

A major part of the ending is based on certain dialogue options you make throughout the game. I don't want to be too spoilery, but pay attention to what you say about the Chantry.
