I play DAOrigins on normal, and was wondering what people would consider the equivalent difficulty in DAInquisition?

I found DAI's normal to be a lot easier than DAO but I only have very limited play time in it and don't know if things get harder at later levels.

I ask because I don't want to set it to a difficulty and then hate it later, and I like DAO's normal (which I would consider most games' hard mode).

You do know you can change difficulty at any time?

Really? I thought that's why it makes you choose at the start. Okay good to know

Honestly, to compare. Inquisition puts more weight on you to interact. Mages are no way near as dominant. You really have to keep that in mind and you should be able to keep normal settings in this game also. I wouldn't feel ashamed to go down to easy to stay immersed. There's 34 distinct commands in combat and changing from 3rd person to tactical has got about 90pct of the users to fall on their face. For the select few we're in our glory it's just phenomenal and seamless. If you're playing pc check out my controls for sure and if you are using controller I seen angry joe catch the essence pretty well, but this is still first and foremost a pc rich experience. Good Luck.

Having done two playthroughs on casual and now attempting normal, I can honestly say that the difference is obvious. It's still not as difficult as DA:O's normal, but I'm definitely having more trouble than I was on casual.

I'd say DAI Hard is about DAO normal, perhaps a bit harder in the prolog but, do that on normal, then hard for the rest of the game. Or as I do run prolog on casual just to get through it fast, then go to hard or nightmare.
