So, anyone remember when Hold Position made your team hold their position?

No. In Tac Cam they hold position without problems even without line of sight. There's even a video that proves it in the combat section.

The only way the Hold Position is override in Tac Cam is if you assign an order (as attack or move). If you use Hold Position and let the AI behave naturally it works flawlessly. You can either switch to normal cam and the Hold order is carried without problems.

The fact is: 90% of the people that complain don't really know how to do things and yet they complain. Just looking around in the various threads and you have a lot of proofs of this. The most absurd and blatantly false statements come from those that hate the game. Just a minute ago I was in a thread where a guy hated the game greatly and he opened with "Bioware didn't either put the possibility of having a behind the shoulder cam in tactical mode". Oh well... probably the guy didn't either try to move the mouse around in tac cam it seems, yet he had no problems complaining about it.

 

I tried using Hold in Tac Cam. It seemed to work initially, but as soon as I stopped walking and started again, the team interpreted that as "oh, we can run up now!". So no, and I do understand what you're saying about people not knowing how to use the commands (read tutorials? **** NO), but I tried doing that and it did not work "flawlessly".

Exactly, and, for me, no matter how I do it, I can get the other three to stay UNTIL I make Quizzy active then, they all swarm Quizzy before I even move Quizzy, in or out of tac cam does not matter. It's "Oh the idiot at the keyboard made our leader active so lets all run over him pronto."

The way i got through that puzzle on my last playthrough was:

 

1. Position Character.

2. Press Hold.

3. Hit pause to verify character reads "hold position"

 

Lather, rinse, repeat for each character.  If I forgot to check using pause, I swear they moved for spite...

 

It's inelegant, but i did get through it with a minumum of frustration.

I forgot that it's 2015 and saw January and thought the game wasn't released in January yet LOL.

 

The hold button in this game is frigidity to say to least. I do remember in Origins that they would stay and not move at all but here they move and it is irritating. Stop moving Cassandra! It is hard to be stealthy or cloak and have your team pop up behind you when you are cloak giving away your position :mellow:

Yeah, that puzzle is the ONE place it's required and, for me, it does not work. I can press hold then take the controlled toon to a location, they ALL follow. Pressing hold does nothing if my quizzy is active. It works on the rest until I make quizzy active again, then, it's released. Tac cam or no, it matters not, I can't position the rest of my team then make quizzy active and have them stay where I put them PERIOD.

Yep. It's absolutely fantastic when they push you off your tile. <_<

It's even better when they push you off a ledge or off the beam you're trying to cross.

 

But nothing beats bringing both Cassandra and Blackwall into Valeska's Watch. I forgot to disable Charging Bull, and the two of them kept throwing themselves into the Deep Roads. Yeah, guys, thanks. I wanted to try to tank this fight while you're at 2 health.

Make quizzy hold too, or even better lock her up.  Another alternative is to position everyone in the right spot (with hold) before starting the sequence each time and make quizzy hold again once he/she does his/her part.
