Because kill stealing only exists in MP, and Bioware are obviously having a go at various BSN threads of the past.  

 

You only have to watch from 4:46 to 5:12

yeah i dread getting 1h weapon challenges only doable with templar/legionnaire. other classes can kill fast enough but those 2 will be an extreme pain in the ass.

With a decent weapon you'll still slaughter most everything on Routine with a Legionnaire, and Threatening mobs don't take that long, either.

 

Getting your kills for the Challenges isn't going to be nearly as hard as you think, if that's your only goal.

Kill Steal only is an issue for heal on kill items, you only get the benefit if you lands the last blow.

 

Still not as bad as playing as Vorcha in ME3MP, you could get yourself killed easily by virtue of not getting the killing blow enough to keep your bloodlust going.

Or if you're running a Treparrin/Grunnsman bow wielding Archer/Hunter.

Getting the killing blow can be the difference between downing one mob or 3 with one shot.

An interesting game mechanic would be to modify heal-on-kill so that instead of being all or nothing, it gave you back a percentage of health based on how much damage you dealt to the enemy.

 

Something like 0.1% health per 10% damage done to the enemy. So if you solo'd the enemy and did 100% damage to it, that would be 1% health (same as existing 1% heal-on-kill). If you teamed up and you personally did 50% damage to the enemy, you'd gain 0.5% health.

^ This. Only time it is really an issue is when you are trying to do it at the same time as prestige-ing.. I am after elemental kill challenges.. so I am putting off prestige-ing for a while.
