I recently unlocked the specializations and so re-spec'd Dorian in his Necro specialization with points also in Spirit and Inferno.

For some reason he's not casting any of the Necro or Inferno spells, but he will cast Barrier from Spirit and when I check under tactics there is a message "Some of these abilities not currently available" or words to that effect.

 

I could not even cast Spirit Mark when I went into tactical to try and cast the spell myself ( I prefer to let my companions run on auto as much as possible.  I can cast Immolate from tactical.

 

Has anyone else run into this issue?

That "Some of these abilities not currently available"ish message means you're in combat.

There is a small bug i have noticed where they might not cast their spells properly if you haven't gone in yourself and made it so. Solas once was doing nothing but casting Winter's Grasp then sitting there doing nothing but auto attacks til he could cast it again.

 

Going into the menu, clearing his abilities off his command pad,  and then putting them back on seemed to fix the issue. Try it for Dorian.
