I'm finding the music memorable and powerful. I'm sorry it wasn't the same for you.
Why is the music so unmemorable and forgettable?

The music is fantastic. The lonely cello - the violins, the bard songs, the dawn shall come, and that beating kettle drum... wow. Fantastic.

having to choose over the 2 composers... i won't. Inon zhur has deffinately compsoed some really memorable tracks for Da games, Da2 thesmes like :Hawkes theme, love theme, credits songs qunari on the rise are still haunting. DaO too had the main theme, warden;s theme, love theme, in uthenera, CALLENHAD DOCKS WHIHC IS ALSO IN DA2.
With that said DaI ALSO features spine chilling soundtracks.
Just do not underestimate neither composer.

DAI Main theme should get some kind of award alone, its so good...I also declare it better now then the main theme from DAO! And as my voice and my opinion rules the Internet this is now FACT!
/end thread
True story:
My mom came over for our monthly lunch date while the main theme was playing, and she made me replay it so she could listen to the whole thing, several times.

What? The music as during the battle of Haven is "forgettable"? Oh well, whatever...
You are clearly a great judge of what constitutes "good" music and I can understand it. Next time we will open a petition to ask Bieber to come up with the soundtrack and so you will be all fine and happy OP, don't worry.

The Dawn Will Come is way superior to I Am The One.
I couldn't stop listening to it when I just got the game.

I was initially weirded out because I thoughy M Giselle would start breaking out into Pippin's RotK song, but it's grown on me since...

The first time around I hardly heard music, now after the patch the sparse music I hear is good. Sadly to sparse for my taste.
I liked the music of DAO also very much and at least it was obvious there was music. DA2's music I can't even remember really.

I don't agree at all! xD Best of the series so far (although I did love I am the one and Leliana's song and one or two more, but luckily we got "I am the one - tavern version") But no. I can't stop listening to the soundtrack, it's mind-blowing. And it fits perfectly with the cutscenes.
All the tavern songs
The main theme
Calling the Inquisition
Sacrifice
Alexius
The dawn will come
Journey to Skyhold (my favorite, chills and tears everytime)
Siege of Adamant
Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts
The Inquisition Marches
Guardians of the Past
All the themes related to the Elder One
...
Even the "Thedas Love Theme", which goes perfectly with some romance scenes... so subtle, but makes you smile
I don't know, the only thing I don't love about the soundtrack, is not because of the soundtrack, but because the tavern songs aren't included and there's a song (when Haven is attacked and you have to fight your way to the trebuchet) that I haven't found either >.<

I have to chime in and say I think the score is great as well. The main theme gets me in an epic mood every time I start it up.
I just wish the Tavern songs had been included in the music download...

Well, there always has to be one I guess, but in all honesty, the soundtrack of the Dragon Age games have been entirely mediocre and forgettable with exceptions such as Elves At the Mercy of Men. I don't consider licensed music to be valid, OP.. especially not when it is Jared Leto screaming his lungs out of his nose with This is War in Origins.
Inquisition had a lot of good tracks (like that one that played in Haven when you first wake up) or some good ambient ones in the dungeons you visit in Orlais, I also really liked the Tavern songs. The main theme is also pretty neat. Trent Morris is good, he's Tudor theme was good and I think he's done wonders for Dragon Age.

I actually found the music in this game to be the most memorable. I even find myself recognizing different strands of music throughout the game and loving it.

The only thing I dislike about this game's OST is the drum sounds from Skyhold. I was hoping for something a little more... upbeat, calming, etc. I don't know, I just don't like the drums, they make it sound like I can't relax at my own headquarters.

The soundtrack is forgettable and unmemorable because it's written by a crap Zimmer clone who has written a soundtrack that sounds like the same stuff that has been heard in television and crap films for the last 20 years. I mean for crying out loud it sounds like the music you hear in reality shows like masterchef... I can't help but wonder how many who like it actually have studied music composition. I would have preferred a symphonic score for this game, which this is NOT - it's practically popsongs with some orchestral instruments.

Opinion thread title worded as fact. Fail.
I find the DAI soundtrack to be excellent (playing it now).
From what I read, consensus is that it's the best one yet.

Yes, because clearly your own personal opinion and that of a handful of others constitutes a consensus of the entire fanbase.

I dig the ambient sound. That drumbeat as you enter Skyhold main hall for the first time... gat damn! I could take or leave the tavern songs, though. I also find it weird to watch Sera stand there with her arms folded while the tavern singer sings about Sera not being agreeable.

There was music in DA:2?
I know that feeling, i was too busy being bored by the 21th wave of useless sissy mobs dancing to Hawke's ridicoulus lollipop chainsaw like animations to notice... what was worse...there were 2 more incoming
