Lol can we just end it already? If anything, I'd say you're being too literal, and we're never gonna agree. PM me if you need to.

How am I the one being literal when all I've done is try to communicate about things on an abstract/symbolic/archetypal level?

You said yourself earlier that it was too "general". Now I'm too "literal".....which is basically the opposite of "general". Make up your mind. :P

Yes. I was a big Ash fan too, and I felt that some of Cassandra's traits and personality were in the same vein, which was pretty great (for me)

Please, dont compare one of the best character in bioware games with that unsuferable ******, Cassandra isnt annoying, boring, hypocrite like Ashley.

I'll stop when she stops lighting fires in the Normandy from those tight pants in her ******.

It's not her fault Bioware are pervs ;) It's no different from Isabella ripping her tops from trying to keep those things tucked away

Literal is not the opposite of general. Just putting that out there.

I meant you're too literal in your judgement of Soldier and Paladin. As if that's all there is to it to their characters, and too general in the same way. Because there's more to them than that.

Literal means taking words to their most basic sense, which is exactly what you're doing here with the soldier and paladin argument. There's more to ashley than her being a soldier.

You're using the second form of literal, I'm using the first.

lit·er·al
ˈlidərəl,ˈlitrəl/
adjective
adjective: literal; adjective: literal-minded

1.
taking words in their usual or most basic sense without metaphor or allegory.
"dreadful in its literal sense, full of dread"
free from exaggeration or distortion.
"you shouldn't take this as a literal record of events"
synonyms: strict, factual, plain, simple, exact, straightforward; More
unembellished, undistorted;
objective, correct, true, accurate, genuine, authentic
"the literal sense of the word “dreadful”"
antonyms: figurative
informal
absolute (used to emphasize that a strong expression is deliberately chosen to convey one's feelings).
"fifteen years of literal hell"
2.
(of a translation) representing the exact words of the original text.

Soldier and Paladin are meant to be very broad. Thousands of authors can write about them in many ways..and have. It's your fault if you think I'm limiting characters by that. Your fault. Not mine. Those are huge spaces for characters to move around in. It only signifies something that anchors the character.

You do that yourself with your argument ;) Both with Ashley and Cass, and your example of the Vatican guard.

Also, keep in mind that I don't take this debate personally ;) I still think you're awesome Streetmagic. Debates are just debates.

It's a general point I was making.

I said that to give you the gist of my point. What did you do? Start talking about how religious your grandma is..and how I should feel bad that I don't think she's religious enough. Wtf. lol

You thought I was insulting other religious people, for not fitting some holy warrior archetype. Like they weren't devout enough. That's what I got from it.

All I'm talking about is literature and general things behind what makes one character or another tick.. the things their storyarcs revolve around. So just in case, I hope you not take it that personally.

You don't judge people like this in real life do you? My grandmother goes to church every sunday, and sometimes even on weekdays. On the surface, she seems like a better christian than me, as I never go to church. Yet I know more about the bible than she does in my sleep. You can't judge characters by their labels.

This is the important part of that post, Streetmagic. I can't stand my grandmother, lol. She's a terrible person. I would never get mad at you for insulting her. She is a ******.

My point in this post was that surface judgements are often inaccurate. Her position in the church, which is a trustee or something, doesn't make her more devout than me.

My main interest was in Dorian but I made a char just for Cass, and I don't generally replay games. I think that's good endorsement there.

My friend who romanced Josie said that while Josie herself, and certain moments, are absolutely fantastic, it was underwhelming in terms of content and the finale. But as an advisor, you do get the perk of coming home to an epic romantic embrace that almost makes up for the super lackluster final battle (atleast it did for me when I romanced Cullen, whose romance was extremely indulgent and well done in itself)

I think Cass has the advantage of being a companion who can experience so much with you, and she has so many more cutscenes due to the Seeker quests and the Divine business.

To be honest, as much as I love love love Cass, I can't help but feel this applies to the romances in general. They just needed more to fill in the void of this huuuge game. Stuff like playing cards or whatever together and hearing the dialogue exchanges between you as you play. That was something that was apparently... and very unfortunately... cut. Sadface.

It could just be because I like Cass that much and can't get enough of her, lol, but I feel like there should've been more.

That's bull, unless your barometer for a good christian is the quantity of heretics and nonbelievers slaughtered per day.

That is a way better measure. We're slacking nowadays.

My first playthrough I get with Cassandra. I find Cassandra to be better suited for the male inquisitor due to plot reasons. She's also a tsundere. Cold to everyone on the outside, but once you get to know her, you realize that she's very romantic and sweet toward you.

Dear Mother of God, what have I created?

Is this huge argument all because how I compared Cassandra to Ashley? Get over yourselves people, you look ridiculous right now.

And for the record, Ashley Williams is awesome. Deal with it.

Both suck...Cassandra looks and sound like a man and Lady Ambassador is fine but i hate her dress..So, both are not worth your time.. :P

If you are playing as male then you are better off with Bull or Dorian(even if you are not gay) :P

For some reason i prefer playing as female in Bioware games...Main female vice actor is always better than main Male voice actor in Bioware games..

I played as female Shepard in Mass Effect  coz of Jennifer hale..She was just amazing in ME games

It's personal preference. I'd say they're both very good, though - albeit in different ways. Cassandra takes a while to open up but her romance reveals a more tender side to her harsh exterior whilst Josephine's romance is a lot like a classic fairy tale instead. Both characters have a lot of depth to them so I'd recommend trying out both at some point!
