I can't decide where to go and what to do. Its cool, but I want to have at least an idea as to what places I should visit...maybe to get some better loot etc. I've unlocked the Hinterlands, Forbidden Oasis, Storm Coast, Fallow Mire, Val Royeaux. Any suggestions as to the best order to complete these areas? I am level 11 2HW.

In terms of story, I think
Hinterlands + Storm Coast + Val Royeaux before In Your Heart Shall Burn
Crestwood + Western Approach + what's left of the Hinterlands and Storm Coast before completing Here Lies the Abyss
Exalted Plains + Emerald Graves + a bit of Emprise du Lion before completing Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts
the rest of Emprise du Lion + Hissing Wastes + Lost Temple of Dirthamen before What Pride Had Wrought
Forbidden Oasis, Fallow Mire, and any other regions I haven't mentioned, you can do anytime since they aren't related to any of the main quests.
This is just a rough outline though. You'll probably have to leave midway and then return to all of these regions, sometimes even after completing them, because companion quests and higher level enemies and what not.
Edit: This is for a playthrough where you complete everything before the last quest, which is just my preference btw.
