Yep, Buckles was also my favourite nickname... for the same reasons previously stated.
Teetness though... I reloaded to an earlier save.

I got "Inky" and left it because
...it seemed appropriate for a Dalish Elf
...it's one of my nicknames from my school days

Well....
The other Sera thread in Scuttlebutt got deleted because Sera fans were being compared to terrorists...
(I think that was the reason, not 100 percent though because nobody was told, I didn't get any warning points/banned etc for my comments)
This thread was "cleaned up" because we had either 1. A troll or 2. Weirdo (maybe both) who got offended about the character cards and kept typing out some incomprehensible nonsense... though I must admit, it was quite funny.
So now all is calm and it appears we are discussing Sera's cute nicknames. ![]()

I really have to give BioWare some credit to a much more enjoyable party banter mechanic, particularly in our ability to choose dialogue ourselves. In this case, Cassandra will wish Sera well in her relationship with the Inquisitor, at which point she'll gush over Cass being a romantic, then Sera will direct the subject to the Inquisitor, allowing us to choose whether or not we'll tell others.

Haha, that's what happens when you watch too much Fox News you see terrorists everywhere. But, yeah that is a shame. I get pretty upset when people feel the need to "educate" me and explain why I'm wrong for liking Sera as a companion. Like I said in another thread Sera is on of my favorite companions she's tough, opinionated, and a little daft but, I adore her.Well....

Are all prospective partners as hard to actually partner up with as Sera? This play through I added her as a companion as soon as possible and have "courted" her ever since, i.e. talked with her very often and also made sure that she approves just about everything my Inquisitor does. But now my char is level 21 and she still postpones it. This way romancing is pretty much meaningless as the game is more or less over when finally succeeding.

I think you may be having the same problem as I did when I first started trying to romance her...
Basically, you need to lock it in after Skyhold and I think before you progress any further with main story i.e Wicked Eyes Wicked Farts and Here Lies The Abyss... I think maybe you could do one of these but the full effect is experienced if you do it beforehand.
A lot of approval can be gained in the Hinterlands at the start of the game by helping out the refugees... best way to do it, then, is go to Hinterlands, get 4 power by sealing a couple of rifts, make camps, etc... talk to Mother Giselle then go straight to Val Royeax to recruit her, then return to the Hinterlands and do all of those little quests..
If you side with mages/Templars she will only approve if you have mages as prisoners/Templars as disbanded and join the Inquisition instead.
War Table ops and Red Jenny caches (if you can find them) boost approval so if you're patient with that you can get a lot.. oh, and hit on Scout Harding. If possible, gain as much power as you can in the Hinterlands, storm coast and fallow mire so you can unlock all areas just to flirt with Harding... (you don't need to explore or do any quests at that point if you don't want to)
Next step is to do the Verchiel March... slave the noble or let her make wine. She loves that... after that, get pranks. After that, eat cookies on roof. After roof-top scene, go talk to her and say "I'm interested in you." If she says "I want to get to know you better. Let's travel around a bit. Boy you're getting there. Woof." You either 1. Do not have enough approval or 2. You need to exhaust every single dialogue option (save for "You're odd for an elf", as I recall that one isn't necessary.)
So... that's how you pick up Sera. ![]()

Much obliged.
I'll keep that in mind. Come to think of it, I've only found two Red Jenny caches. Most of the others I've done, but we could perhaps have more roof time than we've had. I'll also check if I've missed some dialogue option. During my last playthrough I won her over, but it was very late in the game as well (like level 22).

I hope you didn't miss out on a cutscene if you initiated late in the game.. as to avoid possible spoilers, you do the A Woman Who Wants For Nothing quest, then after HLTA and WEWH, you will get another scene which is just awesome...

I missed that. I only got the first cut scene after you get together IIRC. Well, another reason to get the romance up and going quicker the next time.

That first list is very incomplete... I could write a better one if I could be bothered.

In my current play through I did just about everything "right" (i.e. doing stuff and making decisions that Sera approves) and now she and my Inky are a couple already at Lvl 13. This can be lowered a bit, I guess, as I for one thing haven't located all Red Jenny's stashes in the locations where we've been, but I'm pretty happy. It should take some work, but at the same time it's nice to get the romance bantering etc. before the game is up.

BTW, I'd love an exhaustive list on Sera's approvals and disapprovals. I might do one myself, but that have to wait until my next play through. My Inkys are basically her bitches anyway so I might as well succumb to her views on all matters to get her approval.

It was confirmed in the Sera thread awhile ago, I think Lukas was even involved in helping troubleshoot bcuz a few of us had this problem.
