I hated Sera first time around, now I'm on my fourth playthrough and I very much enjoy and like her character alot, more so than many of the others. I like her personality and I can definitely understand and appreciate her views on other elves.

I hereby declare Sera an awesome knight of my current playthrough. Playing on hard, my team had only 1 health potion when starting the boss fight against the Grand Duchess and her minions, which turned out to be a very bad idea. But Sera saved the day almost single handedly. My char died (the first time during this playthrough). Cassandra died (also the first time during this playthrough) and Solas had like 10 health left at the end. But Sera just jumped around being a supreme badass, the AI perfectly handling her throughout.

I had a similar experience except on Nightmare and with two health potions.

Sera solo'd the Grand Duchess....turned her into an end table apparently.

Looking back, I have no idea why I decided on fighting Florianne on my fricken Nightmare run of all things (I usually stop her from killing Celene and have her arrested).

Love me some Sera, which is weird because I thought I was going to hate her before the game came out. There's some times I want to shake the **** out of her, but for the most part I get along really well with her. As for what I like most about her, definitely has to be the way she laughs.

I love Sera: she is great at killing stuff, her dialogue is funny, and the way she reacts to "big" issues involving old gods and stuff is something I totally understand.
I would freak out, too, and work to make sure that everything goes back to normal again.

I also like that she cares about common people.

 

I am not bringing her around in my second playthough because my Inquisitor is the archer, but I miss her banter a lot.

Sera, is like jam an toast with a rough crispy exterior and a sweet, gooey topping...and that sounded so much better in my head lol.

Hey I'm back to this thread.

 

I am on my 4th playthrough and yes, I still love Sera.  I am playing a noble female mage who is not evil but is depressed and just plain broken (horrible crap went down when her circle she loved was disbanded).  So i am supposed to pick horrible dialogue choices and just be mean.  Especially when people talk about death.  She is so despondent that she hates both mages/templars, hates life, hates people who are happy and is so numb she can not show empathy with anyone.  So yeah, she really resents Sera.  Sera reminds her of who she was before and she can't stand it.

 

What does this have to do with Sera love?  Well I am trying to pick the harsh responses for her but am struggling doing it.  Sera looked so sad when I was mean to her it broke my heart. 

 

How can anyone hate this NPC?  She has had a rough life but despite it all is still trying to fight for the little guy.  The person no one really even notices.  The person that has no voice at court, at the chantry or even in the streets.  The person that gets crapped on just for kicks sometimes.  And she has a happy happy joy joy disposition.

 

Personally, I think Sera is a well-written character.  You can see it if you take the time to get to know her and listen.  Whether in romance or friendship, Sera really opens up in the end.

Here's something that's odd. When I try to romance Sera early on. There's a heart symbol. I tell her "I like you" she say's right because we have so many things in common. I reply "Like What" she responds "We both like women" ..may sound silly. Sera does like male and females right. I been intently trying to romance her early on.

 

I brought her along with the big missions. I hear she freaks out when in that Fade place where your alive but in a dead place. I can't seem to romance her or maybe I'm not that far along in the game yet. I spoken with her about all her issues. I tried doing every operation she has. I killed the nobles and helped her red jenny friends. I don't know maybe it's me..not her..

Sorry, Sera is only interested in women. She'll be your friend though.

Are you serious. I need a third play through just focused on trying to romance her. Now I learn I have to be a female. I wish I knew that sooner.

Its funny and cute to see her crushing on a qunari. If you're an elf she'll warm up to you...eventually. Just don't be too "elfy", as she puts it.

Is nice to see another positive Sera thread, kinda tiresome seeing all the "Sera is the worst character ever created" opinions from people on here, especially from the pro-elf fans
