Welp, at least I have these.

Don't forget that ability kills also count as weapon kills. So Templars can WrathPurge their way to Mace victory.

Well, my maces suck, but it doesn't take much to smite your foes with Templar on Routine.

Yawn, only two more weeks of this, then maybe we will get something that is a bit harder than playing 2 routine games with x weapon.

Hooray for an event in which I'm well prepared. Now, to spend the weekend playing as a keeper...

Are you sure it is up? Two Assassin games in a row, and I get no credit, even after restarting Origin. Does not AOE daggers count? o.O

Just as I salvaged all the junk items I had, that included a mace!

Glad I crafted the Alchemist in anticipation of this last night. :) I like her.

I don't think they should be any more difficult. They take most of us several matches, you know. They should be a fun diversion.

Unfortunately they do not count.

Well, it took about 32 minutes, but my Legionnaire managed to whack his way though a Demon horde with a level 2 mace. I hate Despair demons. :|

I got another unique dagger from large chest last night.  Yayy!!  Actually I played my Assassin a bunch yesterday to level her up, so here we go again (at least until challenge is complete).

Well, decided to combine this with 12k gold spent on large chests to help stem the disappointment.

Commendation chests: Nada

10 large chests: 349304390th Bow of Red Crossing and 3 Superb Runes.

Superb Runes are easily the most infuriating drop in the game now.

Sadly, I do not have a mace, nor do I have a dual-wield character unlocked. So much for this one. :(

I'd rather have ones that are a bit tougher if they don't encourage character stacking in a group or high levels coming down to play with my scrubby routine characters and taking all the kills so it takes me 3 times longer to get my challenge done =P

Honestly, this is stupid.

They're trying to run Mass Effect styled events with an entirely different game. I can't throw a Mace or Daggers onto any character to complete these challenges. I have to craft the character in order to even do these challenges.

Poor form BioWare. You had a good thing going with Mass Effect's MP, and it seems like you unlearned the lessons that you gleaned from it.

I think you may be missing the point.

There is a progression in difficulty, starting with weapons held by base characters.

The chances of anyone not having had one Mace by now are pretty slim, that just slaps on your base Legionnaire.

(unless you salvage your Maces - why would you not keep one of each weapon given the last few weeks?

You might keep one staff of each element type handy as well)

Crafting one dagger class by now is not unreasonable and there is the whole weekend to still do so.

So because you are not willing to rise to the challenge, BioWare are stupid?

That doesn't logically follow.

The events are working as intended.

It doesn't take that many games to get enough gold to buy chests, and thus to get enough salvage to craft all characters. I'm only about 40 hours in, and I have them all unlocked, and should be starting on crafting the Tier 2 stuff if I could be bothered.

I think it would have been better to do "Complete X games on Y Difficulty" or "Complete X games with Y Character", thats more controllable by the players, rather than sit and either hoard crap weapons in the off chance of a weekend event or play a metric shitton of games in order to purchase enough chests that you get the weapon you are missing.

Decent challenge and fun. It got me off my arse to craft some armor for the Assassin, gear up the character and break out those two decent daggers I've been holding on to for a while.

I can understand the reasoning for these weapon challenges.

I wouldn't call it an ME-styled event, even. That would be a welcome change. ME events never tracked kills, only damage. At least not for personal challenges. Community ones, like "Kill 1,000,000 space monsters," sure. But they didn't pit player against player.

And with very, very few exceptions -- perhaps none -- they could be done by a player with a brand-new account. That's harder to do here because they start us with so little. Three characters, three weapons and one elemental damage type.

They clearly did not have weekend challenges in mind when they were designing any other aspect of the game at all. Not even the non-weekend challenges, because they lack the tech to track anything creative, like guard or barrier damage absorbed or enemies frozen.

And a few hours after finishing the dagger one with some level 11 common and an inquision dagger or something like that (only had notable dual blades), I nab a level 21 Wicked Grace.

thanks op.....now the REAL event starts.  can you get all the required kills or will your game mess up or the key not drop?
